Manga outside the UK doesn't really have presence anymore, so is this a good thing or a bad thing?

It's a very good thing. They used to license the most interesting stuff. In fact, they still do. Thanks to them we're getting Redline and First Squad.

Plus we're finally getting the Battle Royale movies thanks to Anchor Bay.
