IIRC, Takeshi Obata also did some illustrating of the Japanese versions of Gene Wolf's "New Sun" novels.

Here I was foolishly expecting covers that imitated their manga styles and instead they look really artsy and adult. Kudos for showing your talents, folks.

I really like Hiroyuki Asada's take on Night on the Galactic Railroad.

He also did one of the editions of Ningen Shikkaku (No Longer Human) by Osamu Dazai, although they've since been largely replaced by the live-action cover.

And again, I am awed at Hiroyuki Asada's art.

I mean it's just so pretty!

Hm. I'm a tad surprised/disappointed that Gosho Aoyama wasn't chosen to provide the cover art for Sherlock Holmes...

Same here.

I like the illusion of movement in both that and Hoshino's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes.

Hope these reboots get licensed now, thanks to the new cover art. They are classics, after all.
