Aw man, cancer? I hope she gets better soon and can fight it off...

I love her music, so I'll be keeping her in my prayers. Smile

I wish her the best.

Fortunately (and this is going to sound horrible no matter how I put it) thyroid cancer is the best one to get. It's highly curable. My mother was diagnosed with it in February and if they catch it early enough it can be easily removed.

Best of luck to her and her loved ones in what is sure to be a very stressful time for all.

I can't even describe how sad this is to hear. I really love her music, and I wish the best for her. I wonder if they were able to catch it early enough to cure it/treat it. Hopefully she can fight it off.

Good luck!

my fiance, who is an RN on a cancer floor at a local hospital, said something similar about treatability.

good luck and best wishes to this amazing singer ... we love her music.

Doesn't sound like a horrible thing to say to me. More like looking on the bright side, keeping positive.

Just reading the headline made me wanna start crying. She has a terrific voice and I love her music (as well as Higurashi).

I'll be praying for her in the meantime. Hopefully this won't affect her career to much. Sad

OMG, thyroid cancer? Jeez, that's horrible. I hope that she gets better. I hope that it's not too serious and can be cured. So I'm wishing her a speedy recovery.

I love the OP song to the first 'Higurashi'. I picked up the single some time back.

While it is horrible she got this, like others said this is one of the more treatable ones...

Here's hopes that it doesn't go and kill her or end up being removed, only to ruin her career...

Best of luck. Naraku no Hana is one of my favorite anime OP's of all time, I hope the artist behind it isn't taken down by such a rampant medical problem. ):

Aww man Eiko, so sorry to hear about this. She is one of my favorite singers. And not just because Higurashi is one of my favorite anime's. I love her voice. Here's to you Eiko Shimamiya, please get better.

~Thinking of you, wherever you are.
We pray for our sorrows to end,
and hope that our hearts will blend.
Now I will step forward to realize this wish.
And who knows...

i just recently got some of her older stuff and she's always been amazing apparently.

^this absolutely. The members of I've Planet Five are one of my favorite groups/singers and it would be incredibly depressing to see her go. Really hopes that she recovers. She did a fantastic job with the Higurashi songs too.

I had thyroid cancer when I was seventeen. After her recovery she should be able to sing again.
