Hopefully, it'll work out better the Virtual Boy...

I was thinking the same thing, shades of the Virtual Boy. Also a lot of motion sick children...

I keep thinking it'll look like a hologram-type of deal. You know, Star Wars style, just hand-held.

Maybe the Pokemon games will finally have some physical contact instead of having giant teeth coming out of nowhere.

Eh, I would much rather prefer just a "DS 2" that has Gamecube-level graphics. 3-D is one thing for a movie (though even then, it often feels like a cheap gimmick unless the movie team really pushed to make it work, like Avatar), but hours and hours of gaming? No thanks. Even the holograms suggestion sounds awful, it just seems like a distraction from actual gaming. Hopefully it'll just be something optional.

I'd also like it if we eliminated stylus-only games (well, except for turn-based games, no rush there). I've always sucked at using that thing, and it rather killed any enjoyment I could get out of Phantom Hourglass. Don't get me wrong, keep the stylus as an option for those who want to use it, but don't make it the only choice.

When I saw "3D" I thought, "hey cool, finally PSP level graphics."

Nope. I could care less about 3D.

Well, I guess it'll be interesting for those that want 3D graphics on their handhelds. Personally, I'm sticking to a regular DS and playing my DS and GBA games.

...I like my GBA games.

I was just thinking something similar. But I ask the question, WHY?

It's still 5 days until the DSi XL is released and they are already announcing a successor? Lately it seems to be a yearly event them coming out with a new model.

Sounds interesting, though I'll wait until I see one in action before I make any judgements.

For "gimmicks", Microsoft and Sony sure are persistent about imitating them.

I have no doubt that in about four years they'll be developing in 3D too. Razz

The company emphasizes that the new console's "games can be enjoyed with 3D effects without the need for any special glasses."
