I wish they'd get this Trigun movie done already.

Then maybe we can get some sort of Trigun Ultimate, like with Hellsing and Fullmetal Alchemist. If any manga needs a reanimating, it's Trigun.

Is it still supposed to be out some time this year? Haven't really heard much about it since it was announced a few years ago except that it was supposed to premiere in 2009.

From the AX press release

Quote:
Exclusive First Look Premiere of the Highly Anticipated TRIGUN Film

Hm...I wonder if that means they'll be showing scenes or something...

It's been so long since I've heard anything about this that I just sort of assumed it had slipped into development hell. Good to see it's still on track.

So is this a new story or Ultimate-esque? Either way, at least it won't be a "summarize episodes #1-n" compilation movie.

Well, considering Wolfwood entered the original anime series at episode 9, and left it at about 23 or 24, and that the first 4 episodes were all filler not found in the manga, I'd say this new movie has a really good chance of more or less following the manga, perhaps minus the B.D.N. saga aboard the train.

But then again, if the main bad guy IS Wolfwood (spoiler[instead of Knives]), it almost seems like an alternate-reality storyline that doesn't follow the manga...or anything.

If this does really well, then the chances of the Maximum manga series being animated increase greatly!

Yeah, from what I've heard that's exactly what it's going to be.

Evil Wolfwood? Yay! Any Wolfwood makes me happy. I wonder what they'll do for the English dub, since Geneon is gone. I hope Johnny Bosch will reprise his role as Vash, bringing back the English cast, if certain characters are in it would be awesome.
