Well lucky DC! I'm in London and have to make do with a talk on Hokusai at the National Gallery. Followed by a film. Its the year of 150 in the UK. One hundred & fifty years of friendship between our two countries. http://www.japanuk150.org/

Well, actually, they're doing us proud. This month alone. http://www.uk.emb-japan.go.jp/japanuk150/events/april09.html

Not much anime, pity, but we can console ourselves with several excellent exhibitions this year, including Utagawa Kuniyoshi at the Royal Academy until June. Origins of anime right there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utagawa_Kuniyoshi
