Even though I don't think of much of Nick Mag's opinion (even though I used to love it), I'm glad Bone also got something. It's a great comic and deserves to be read more.

Sometimes, I wish it'd get adapted to animation the way most manga does to anime. That'd be awesome.

I didn't know there was a difference between the two.
I didn't know they had this award either.

I don't read Nick Mag (not for about twelve years, anyway), but it's good to see Kazu Kibuishi getting more recognition. That fellow does some impressive work.

... What the frak? Diary of a Wimpy Kid is NOT a graphic novel. Does Nickledoen know what a graphic novel is? I have to really wonder, because Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a YA chapter book series. Sure, it has a little stickfigure drawing on every page, but it's a BOOK. So in Nicklodeon's eyes now, any chapter book with illustrations is a graphic novel?

apparently they were attempting to adapt the comic into a cartoon but disney had unresonable demands (ex: bone with childs voice) and censorship issues. its a good thing disney hasn't touched the comic.

eitherway, pokemon manga is actually pretty good. i am glad to see it get some credit.

fawhooosh!

Yet it'll never get more of a release. God even scanlations are hard to find.

If you are speaking of Pokemon, Viz is releasing new editions of the manga this summer. Also a Diamond and Pearl version is currently on volume number 4.

They might have to call it that because that is what the higher ups want them to call it. Or they might just be stupid enough to think anything with pictures is a graphic novel.

I don't know how their system works but Calvin and Hobbes had ended their run since 1995. ( even though they live on in reprinted strips and collected volumes.) and Bone ended in 2004 ( once again still lives in collected volumes.) They are great works ( along with Maus by Art Spiegelman) I think it's kinda pointless to a degree to award series that have not produced any new material during the time of eligibility. However it's Nickeldeon magazine so logic seem to be thrown out of the window. ( they have the money to do it anyways.) Course, I wished Nickelodeon had not dragged its feet on producing a Bone movie ( which now the rights are at Warner Brothers which they plan a cgi movie.)

Pokemon Special is awesome and we need more of it, but I didn't know that it was still popular here, especially the "Best of" series which doesn't tell a story coherently....
