Have they canceled plans for KG2 or did the project just turned into this?

I'm guessing this is it. Hell I'll take it, as long as it actually comes out this time around.
Good news. Last edited by Kruszer on Thu Feb 26, 2009 4:24 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I suspect the latter is the case, but I'm also wondering about that.

So I'm guessing they scrapped what they planned for KG2, started from scratch, and now we have this...
As long as it doesn't start with a 5-minute pilot, I won't call BS. |

Hmm, this could be good. I'll give it a whirl when it becomes legally available. I wonder how this one will be handled licensing wise.
On that note, anyone know how Kiddy Grade did for the Texas Overlords? I'm a little annoyed this doesn't seem to have much to do with the original series' heroines, I'm okay with new girls. Then again, looks can be deceiving and who knows, maybe our favorite pair will show up in this one in some capacity. spoiler[They're not likely to have died of old age right?] |

I wonder if Kiddy Grade 2's trouble was because of the Gonzo restructuring/layoffs? Because this new series has switched to Satellite for animation.

NANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII? WTF??? You're kidding me right? You mean to tell me that I waited 2007 and 2008 just to get to what would be 2009 and we get this? So that means we get more 'Kadonosono's loli designs, just the way 'Kiddy Grade' was meant to be.
'Kiddy Girl? Oh well, the last series was 'Kiddy Grade' and they were supposedly (we don't want to spoil it) teens. I say susposedly. Anyone that's watched the series knows the truth. Ok, JUST AS LONG AS I GET MY 2ND SEASON they can call it 'Kiddy Butch' for all I care. Just get it out already. LOL!! And what's with the title? I just found out after posting. 'Kiddy Girl and-' ....and what? Pandering? Cheetos? Cheerios? Okay, I'm signed up. The title just hooked me buy the jaw. [Use the edit button next time. Thanks! ~Cloe] |

The title is similar to some of the manga titles...
Kiddy Girl& It's all the rage nowadays - dont ask me why, I have just seen it over and over and over again... Anyways, yeah it looks like KG2 is probably scrapped - which is too bad. But it's nice to have a DVD and book that so few people will ever own. In the meantime, I look forward to the supposed May 2009 release date for this. Hopefully they will eventually do a manga compilation - buying the individual Ace issues will really be expensive with the shipping costs... |

Gonzo wasn't in charge of KG 2. It was some other company (forgot their name). Anyways, I guess I'll take this over nothing. At least for now.... |

Gonzo weren't involved. After Kiddy Grade, Megumi Kadonosono and Keiji Gotoh (the creative team behind it) left Gonzo to start their own studio, gimik. This looks like it's just a renaming of what was announced as Kiddy Grade 2 ages ago. Same two characters (Que-Feuilles and Ascule, though it looks like Ascule has had a redesign) and setting. I'm quite happy to see the production studio change. KG2 was originally announced to be animated by Asread, who did (absolutely terrible) animation production for the second and third Minami-ke, whereas Satelight recently did the animation for Macross Frontier. I know which one I'd rather see working on this, and it isn't Asread. |

FWIW, if you say "Kiddy Girl-and" fast it comes out "Kiddy Girl Land" .

Yeah, I still have a copy of the KG2 "pilot" somewhere on my harddrives. Basically had given up. It's not the greatest anime ever, but I'm there for more of it in whatever form. I put my faith in Keiji Gotoh and Megumi Kadonosono. I would like to see Uta~Kata licensed.

After looking at that pic again, the violet haired girl does indeed look just like the girl I remember seeing in the promo vid. Yeah, maybe KG2 just went through its own restructuring as well as a name change. I can't say I'm too fond of the name, but when has the name of a series ever detered me from something I've been looking forward to? NEVER Here's to looking forward to new arse-kicking space agents with crazy powers |
