I'm sure that doesn't annoy the locals.

Ugh, I'd hate to live there and have all those fans coming around.

If I lived there, I'd be putting my house up for sale immediately. Downtown Tokyo would be quieter than what's coming there!!

Sounds like fun to me. Also, its good for their economy. They can probably make some handy improvements to their town with the extra revenue.

hmmm. Seems insanely chaotic. If only Otaku weren't looked so down upon in Japan. I guess you'd have to say anime fan to get a way with it.

Some rather interesting bicycles are pictured on that Akibahobby link. It appears there's nothing a dedicated Otaku cannot customise to their liking.

It's not like these people are perminently living there, it's only for a few days, and as someone else said, it's good for their economy. This happens everywhere around the world; tourists comming to a certain part of the world and locals getting aggrivated at the outsiders. It just happened here in Vegas; thousands of tourists visiting Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam for the holidays, but tourists are the #2 reason for Las Vegas' strong economy, so if anything it will help the Japanese.

If this was something else aside from Lucky Star, I wouldn't mind, but the fact that it is means instant fail....

You divide 300,000 by by 33.33 and so forth, it's over 9000.

Locals may or may not complain, but nothing talks as much as $$$. Really, not so different from the college football season: lots of people visit for a couple days at certain times of the year celebrating their favored entertainment and showcasing their loyalty. But really, I wonder how long the fervor will last, as the anime series closes on two years old.

Sounds like there is enough interest to warrant a second season of Lucky☆Star sometime.
