Hey, Saint Seiya's last DVD makes the list... Nice to see that.

Now if only we could get more of the anime brought over here...

Three of my favorite anime of the season debuted on the top 3. Coolness.

I heard Code Geass debuted with 25k with the DVDs. Isn't that a bit low compared to the first season DVD sales? I heard the first season DVDs sold at around 50k total each.

I'm kinda not surprised to see Code Geass at #1, seeing how popular it is in Japan. But still, that's really cool to see. ^^

wow junjou is doing very well. Probably cause of the unedited version on the dvd. Anyone got figures on how well bl anime generally do? I'd hazard to guess that Junjou is doing better than any of the other titles I've seen in recent years.

Someone must have seriously convinced the Higurashi staff of Studio DEEN in doing Junjou Romantica, and now it's seriously kicking ass in DVD sales. I'm still dumbfounded by this.

I think I remember seeing Gakuen Heaven on the top 20 too but I think its DVD sales were around 3k average. LOVELESS sold an average of 3k. Junjou's first DVD has sold over 11,000 copies in less three weeks. That's more than all BL titles that have been released. I think it's doing better than all the shoujo titles out this year too.

Blame Toei for that.

Well, to be honest, I don't think all the blame is on Toei.

I personally also blame DiC, who thought that they could rape the hell out of it and still have it be a success... And then when it didn't they wondered why. That kind of gave it a bad label over here.

Chances are I bet Toei didn't want the license split among multiple companies, much like how Sailor Moon was split among multiple companies.

Yeah, comparing R2's vol.1's first week sales to S1 vol.1's total sales makes a lot of sense, right? Razz Seriously though, I'm glad Geass is doing well, I hope we get both seasons on BD here in the US soon.

A single BD would most likely be over $40...lol

It's the first week, and Geass R2 is being simultaneously released on dvd and Blu-ray, which reduces the dvd sales.

They could just give the sole license to ADV and have them finish the series.

Oh right. I completely forgot about the Blu-ray release. I wonder how much that version sold. I would choose to buy the Blu-ray release as well if I had to choose between the two.
