Whoa, I didn't think we would getting a Broadway musical adaptation of a manga. This is very cool to see. Normally in the past the musical adaptation of anime/manga are usually done in Japan, but after seeing Your Lie in April getting a English-language musical adaptation, I think we could be at a point where anime/manga will probably get more musical or stage adaptation in the US in the near future alongside live-action adaptation.

A slightly off topic but tangent: So after seeing this manga getting a Broadway musical (and also London's West End production), I wonder when we will see an audio drama based on anime/manga that was originally recorded in Japanese (& released on CD) will get translated/released in English and other languages given that audio drama podcasts have already gained popularity in the US and worldwide. I want to see something like Akira or Dirty Pair to get a English-language audio drama as a possibility.

Moyoco Anno's biography is so interesting. Besides hard hitting stories about prostitutes, she's also the creator of Sugar Sugar Rune AND married to Hideaki Anno/worked on Evangelion? Crazy!!!

I suspect we'll be seeing more and more anime/manga turned global theater, as many of the Western theater/playwrights who have contributed to the past few decades continue to die off. It warms my heart that theater is so popular in Japan still, as it's one of their most ancient forms of entertainment. My money's on Fruits Basket in the near future...
