So does this mean Sentai probably won't release Blu Rays for the series either? Dunno if there are anime that got a North American home video release that didn't get a Japanese release.

I hope Sentai is still able to do their BD release.

After all the chaos during the airing of the show resulting in the show's last two episodes being postponed until the end of the last year this outcome was expectable.

Man, this anime was cursed. I feel bad for the author.

Legally, it shouldn't be (unless the licensee gets permission from the licensor), but Funimation/Crunchyroll got away with it a couple times.

Why would it be illegal? As long as they have secured the home video rights there's no law that says one country can't release a home video release just because another didn't.

Yikes. I haven’t seen the anime yet, but it sucks as a fan of the manga to see this kind of thing happen to the anime.

I heard that the Stage Play Blu-Ray release was also cancelled? Can anyone confirm this?

Wowser. I think this is the first time I've seen something like this happen. Would a production delay be the only reason for such a harsh thing? Japan loves its physical media so this is hard to fathom.

It was bad enough that the show had to compete with two other yuri music shows in the same season, but it seems eternally cursed. Will be side-eyeing anything coming from Yokohama and Cloud Hearts from now on.

The DVD for the stage play (there was no BD pretty sure) was cancelled last month, but that's because of the company in charge of the stage play adaption going out of business.

Plenty of recent shows have had their BD release cancelled, D.Gray-man Hallow, Phantom in the Twilight, Blue Reflection Ray, Kawagoe Boys Sing, King's Raid (though somehow that one got a western BD release). None of those shows had production issues, it's usually just because they don't expect them to sell.

Sounds like you don’t have to worry about Cloud Hearts as it appears to be defunct. That is probably the issue causing the problem.

Sad that so much has gone wrong in the production of a good story.
