There was a Deltora Quest anime so this show existing is nothing special but why now? The trilogy came out between 2009 and 2011. Joe Hisaishi songs are a net positive regardless of how the anime turns out.

My memory of the books is pretty hazy, but I remember enjoying them. This seems like a great title for an anime adaptation.
As to why now? Probably because the directors have wanted to do it -- Howl's moving castle came out years after the novel, after all (and let's not speak of Gedo senki/Earthsea. Did anyone from the Gainax? Trigger? OVA Dragon Dentist work on this, I wonder? |
