Legendary Kickoff still being animated by OLM and Heroes' Prologue by MAPPA makes my heart feel so full. Years upon years of delays feel so worth it with all they're putting into showing the full breadth of Victory Road as a project.

Hope people don't get their hopes too high. Aside from it just being a compilation of existing stuff, as far as I can tell AEON usually doesn't re-release things out of theaters. Their Yo-kai Watch film had some "digital cinema" screenings, no streams or home media. And that at least had a sliver of new content guaranteed out of the gate, even if it was only a few minutes worth. (Some of their other comp films didn't even get that much.)

So, yknow. Fun stuff if you're in Japan or planning to go while it's showing, I guess.

Interesting stuff, it's some nice info. But judging by the article, while the first movie is definitely a compilation film, the second movie seems to be a prologue to the newest game and not a recap or an expansion of the game's cutscenes.

Keep in mind though that Legendary Kickoff is a compilation movie so I don't think they're reanimating anything, I think OLM being credited there is just for courtesy.

On the contrary, the way it's described on the site comes across as an expansion to me. It does say there will be new animation in it that's not in the beta test, but doesn't specify it's not going to be in the game as a whole + makes it clear that only a portion of it is new footage.

To clarify, when I said "article" I was referring to this ANN article. But with the info you mentioned I guess it is just an expansion of the game's cutscenes.

That's true! I will nonetheless keep my fingers crossed in hopes that there will be new animated content, even the slightest bit like an opening just for the compilation film.
