Oh cool! I might finally get a chance to watch this then... depending on how they actually release it of course.

I think this one would be different this time. Arrow Film could re-release In the Aftermath (they did previously released it on blu-ray minus the uncut verison Angel's Egg back in 2019) in 4K UHD with the original Angel's Egg as a special feature or a 2nd film cut included in a hypothetical 4K UHD BD/1080p BD combo in the future. Criterion released Police Story 2 and it included the HK cut version of the film (which was never seen outside of HK, and first time released on BD in North America). So I'm hoping Arrow Film can find a way to include Angel's Egg on a future re-release of In the Aftermath. I mean we're living in an era where old anime are getting released the first time in NA, I would be expecting Angel's Egg to find it's way into North America one way or another. |

Are the rights to Angel's Egg still locked up even after all this time?
I still don't see how it's genuinely worth it considering how many people know about In the Aftermath and how many know about Angel's Egg? |

I'd say it still is for the visual storytelling and being among the better visually pleasing anime of the 1980s, but definitely an acquired taste for the ambiguous nature of its story and themes given the minimum amount of spoken dialogue. |

I'd love to watch it remastered.

It's one of the most beautiful, haunting things I've ever seen in my life. I don't just mean anime, or movies, I mean anything. Just know what you're getting yourself into. Last edited by varmintx on Thu May 09, 2024 11:38 am; edited 1 time in total |

So are 4K Blu-rays the same region as their standard counterparts? I bet RACS would add this to their new import section. Expensive as hell though.

4K UHD Blu-ray Discs are region-free. |

Is it clean? Don't want anything graphic or questionable on screen with company around. |
