Published by Sony owned Aniplex, artbook is censored for Sony Playstation version and not Nintendo Switch version. Ha.
If nothing else, it's good they're letting us know this early rather than it being a surprise on release. |

The removed images make zero sense regardless. Its an M rated game and if they can be included in the switch version then it can be included in the Playstation version. Its funny how they allowed full frontal nudity in cyberpunk and bestiality in Baldur's gate 3 with zero issues.

Sony censors another eastern game. Ironic isnt it. At least it seems like stellar blade's censorship may be reversed. Perhaps with enough pressure, sony will someday abandon these policies.

Hopefully, community pressure prompts a rethink on important issues. Engaging in community discussions can often lead to beneficial changes. The conditions certainly seem ripe for it. IIRC, there was some discontent with the adaptation among fans of the VN. |

So the entirety of this censorship happy double standard can be thrown directly at the PlayStation departments feet. Who is this helping?
I’d be more understanding if this was a company policy. I’d grouse, but ok, big executives have a policy and we have to follow it. But this is isolated to PlayStation and PlayStation only, and it helps no one. |

The statement says the game itself is untouched, only the art book packaged with the physical limited edition is being censored. Which honestly makes the situation even more bizarre, if anything. |

We're probably going to have to wait until at least after they finish that prequel film, "Witch on the Holy Night." |

I saw this news elsewhere, and I immediately preordered the Switch limited edition. I've never even looked at my Mahoyo artbook, but finding out that I'd receive an inferior version doesn't sit well with me.

I'm glad they at least didn't censor anything in the game.

That, AND likely the other routes for the Tsukihime VN reboot. It's never a good sign when you have to seriously consider whether you're actually going to live long enough to see an anime released. I'm already pretty much resigned to never seeing 'Girls' Work' in my lifetime. |

Damn.
I thought this wasn't going to affect me, since I didn't think I had pre-ordered the limited edition, but, after checking my Amazon order, and then the rest of the net, it appears that's the only version they are actually selling - is it really a limited edition if it's the only edition? Or are we starting to reach the point where any physical release is automatically limited? I really don't want to support this kind of BS, but I also drastically prefer playing games on my PS5 over the Switch. *Sigh* Why does Sony have to be so... Sony? |

Unfortunately I think it'd probably be too late at this point with how soon it's releasing. Anyway I'm waiting to see what the changes are for curiosity's sake. |

Based on my understanding, the Stellar Blade situation was a matter of self-censorship by the studio after an internal discussion about target demographic, despite it being an M game. They said after the reception of the change, they are discussing whether or not to change it back. Sony had nothing to do with that one, and generally, Sony allows nudity as long as the characters are explicitely adults. It is my assumption here that at least one of the artworks altered in the Tsukihime artbook is of Ciel, who is 23, but probably looks young enough to warrant them being extra careful. I don't agree with this, but I suppose I can understand the reasoning. |
