I've read this and man, the feels at some points are for real. Then you got weird stuff coming straight out of left field more akin to "Terminator 2" meets "I, Robot", meets GITS. Makes no sense now, but it's honestly super weird.
Anyway, good stuff, surprised to see it being animated. Now to hope they don't change the story. |

I'm not entirely convinced by this trailer. It looks like the producers are creating a light fluffy slice of life romance, whereas the source material has a darker vibe, f.e. spoiler[the male protagonist suffers from rather serious alcohol poisoning when he proposes to Mina and is quite vulnerable at that moment]. I wonder if and how they'll show such moments. I'm also a bit disappointed by the rather stiff looking animation. The colors look nice, though.

Something occurred to me about Mina's voice, it sounds less robotic than I imagined from reading the manga. Obviously, they're using a human actress and not just text-to-speech for her voice so there are limitations with how robotic she'd actually sound but the voice actor for spoiler[Mamoru] had better be amazing because that character in the manga has voice balloons indicating that he sounds a lot more human than Mina spoiler[despite looking relatively less human than Mina and more like a robot bird].
spoiler[Then there are the human-like androids such as Super Mina who get speech balloons no different than humans; I'd imagine that their voices sound completely natural as they presumably have artificial lungs and vocal chords.]
I don't remember any chapter with a spoiler[human who thinks they're a robot]. I guess the spoiler[robot who thinks it's a human] is probably spoiler[Shitorari/Citlaly, although that's really only what she thinks at first, considering her personality is based on a human, but she, or rather they, figure out that they're all robots at some point between the flashbacks in chapter 42 and the current timeline]. |
