Was looking forward to this. I wonder what happened exactly to delay things a year. Just announced it too soon?

Maybe they thought they could reuse the old translation, but realised it wasn't up to the task.

Pretty bad it took Dark Horse over two months after the originally planned release date to finally make an announcement about the rescheduled release date. I’m not holding out hope that this will be a quality release, but perhaps I’ll end up being proven wrong.

The announcement on Twitter suggests that the creator and licensing partners might be demanding higher quality, so hopefully it will turn out well in the end.

Now that I remember, the Shirow re-release stuff from DH took forever, too...

It was a bit over a year late. The second edition was a smaller format but included the missing two color pages from Ghost in the Shell.
Dark Horse makes a habit of being late. Volume 7 of the Oh My Goddess! Omnibus was due in May. That was cancelled and was resolicited for June and is still not out yet. It now has an estimated release date of this March.
