I just started watching Thermae Romae Novae two days ago and in a live section with Mari Yamazaki she expressed interest in making more. It's just one hell of a coincidence for me, lol.

I enjoyed the series but it felt like by the end it had exhausted the possible material, so not sure just making the character 30 years older brings a lot of fresh material to explore. They already made plenty of old people jokes.

Honestly, yeah, the romance plot that takes up much of the second half was a pretty clear sign that the historical joke well had run pretty dry.

I’ll give this a go because as a casual history nerd I loved the early chapters, but my hopes are not high
