If this doesn't mean it's the greatest anisong OP of all time, then I don't know what does.

Not a fan of Chainsaw Man (the show's storyline doesn't appeal to me), but this is a nice change given that K-pop (or anything Koreans) have been making the top of the Billboard 200 (& 100) charts. I would say congratulation to this anisongs for this achievement.

YOASOBI's "Idol" has surpassed it in every numerical respect, including hitting #1 on the Billboard Global charts. And it's hard to argue that "Cruel Angel's Thesis," which remained a top karaoke performer for more than two decades after Neon Genesis Evangelion aired, isn't more deserving, too.
It's a good anisong - definitely one of the best of 2022 - but "greatest anisong OP of all time" isn't a title so easily earned.

Congrats to Kenshi Yonezu. He makes good music, but I vastly prefer Peace Sign to Kick Back.

Kenshi Yonezu sings in a way that is emotionally moving, whether the song is forceful or relaxed. I think he deserves the award and that he will bring more Japanese songs to popularity outside Japan, especially in the west.
