Not EGOIST! Another favorite group of my is disbanding. The pain... I can't take it. I remember watching GC when it aired and hearing chelly's voice just blew my mind. Adding Ryo on top of that, and it just felt special. Kind of like fripside's phase 2 with Yoshino Nanjo and SAT in Railgun or Altima with *takes a deep breathe and holds in the tears*.... Maon Kurosaki with motsu and SAT in Shakugan no Shana. What a debut that was. I'm glad EGOIST decided to perform for other series instead being tied to GC. They knew they had something special. I guess its fitting that Psycho-Pass: Providence is their last work since it got original crew back together from the 1st season. As for Kabaneri, I don't know why season 2 (and potentially more seasons) is taking so long. We missed out on so many new EGOIST songs for that series because they are taking so long. They fumbled just like how Index III took forever that Mami Kawada retired. She did return to write the lyrics for the 1st OP of Index III, but that's it. chelly could still perform the songs, but would Ryo be involved? or would Ryo compose and feature a new singer like Kajiura and Sawano? Who knows. I hope chelly performs for more anime. She deserves the spotlight.

At first I felt devastated, but given how abstract Ryo’s recent works are (personal opinion, just not meant to against him mind you), I start to feel this might be a blessing in disguise for Chelly, wish her and Ryo all the best

I though they stopped collaborating a few years ago and majority of later EGOIST material was written by other composers anyway, so there was not much reason to switch to solo officially as EGOIST was already de-facto Chellys solo project. But I may be mistaken.

Well, kind of sad, but at least chelly will still be performing.

I personally think it's about time. They really had a good run. The latest Psycho-Pass movie ended up being a good send off.
Man, it really has been that long since Guilty Crown came out. Its soundtrack still gives me chills.

RIP
Supercell/ryo was one of first artists I got into via anime, and even though I haven't liked any of EGOIST's songs since Fallen (2014), they were the best part of Guilty Crown and I wish her all the best.

End of an Era, Ryo's Egoist and Supercell were my favorite bands growing up.
