Well that's certainly an interesting staff lineup.

I wonder if we'll get hand drawn robots in this or not.

I wonder if this'll be its own continuity or not. Because if it is, that'll be a 4th Kouji unless they use Akabane or Morikubo. Fukada returning to a Super Robot show has me really excited since that was Cyber Formula for all extents and purposes and Dendoh was really fun.

Holy ship! It looks amazing (so far). Video and visual. I will cry tears of joy if its full 2D.

Dat staff. Fukuda and Okouchi. Two creators that worked on 2 of the most popular series (SEED and Code Geass) anime in the 2000's. Can they make this a masterpiece? Stay tuned.

"Yuke Yuke Duke Fleed
Tobe Tobe Grendizer"

With those key words... Somehow someway, I hope angela performs the OP song. If you know you know.

It would also be a good idea for Toei to license the original series for Grendizer’s 50th Anniversary in 2025. There are alot of people that do not remember Grendizer in the US. I first saw UFO Robo Grendizer as part of Jim Terry’s Force Five. I had a movie channel Spotlight that aired compilations of Grendizer, Gaiking, Getter (Starvengers), Danguard and Spaceketeers another Leiji Matsumoto series. The only non Super Robot Anime in Force Five. That series aired 42 years ago and only on video tape.

This will probably depend on how the upcoming Mazinger Z Blu-rays do for Discotek since it took a long time to get Great Mazinger after their Z DVDs came out and we're just now getting Z on Blu-ray after years of Toei's HD remaster being available in Japan (first released in 2017-2018, re-released in 2022).

As for this new show, I see Sentai getting it since they still seem to be interested in Go Nagai stuff and have done so with getting the modern shows (Cutie Honey Universe, Getter Robo Arc).

oh wow. I am going to postpone my Watch of Grandizer now. I was just getting to it after finished Raideen but damn with this announcement, you know 100% they are going to re-release the classic series again, if discotec doesn't pick it up first. So I am going to wait on that version. Meanwhile a new anime remake also. This one of the robot shows of the canon crossverse continuety of Go nagai which never got the attention it deserved such as Mazinger and Getter Robo. Now we can finally get the last one of the saga in home video.

Fukuda (GPX Cyber F1, Gear Fighter Dendoh, Gundam SEED) directing, Okouchi (Code Geass, LUPIN III Part 5, LUPIN ZERO, Gundam: The Witch From Mercury) on script, Sadamoto (Evangelion, Summer Wars) on character design and Tanaka (One Piece, Summer Wars) for music.

What a line up.

I remember reading there was already too much stress with puting Koji in the original Grendizer. Wonder how is he gonna work.

As a Grendizer fan, this already looks amazing, but it should be from a decade of not seeing anything Grendizer. It almost doesn't matter if the story sucks LOL just to see an updated animation of Grendizer might be enough.
