Does the Apothecary Diaries manga fair better for Square, in contrast to the light novel at J-Novel that had lukewarm success despite the hype?

What a fantastic list. It features A Sign of Affection (a shoujo favorite) and How Do We Relationship (an amazing yuri).

The list strikes a great balance. It features popular stuff that’s not too popular. I think most manga fans will find something new to read from this list.

I'm a reddit user and that is completely inaccurate. For it to be a "Reddit the List", it would have to have loads of romcoms, loads of short manga, "wholesome" moments, damn near no shojo manga and constant complaining about Kaiju No. 8.

Also a Reddit user, can confirm. Except that the complaining about Kaiju No. 8 would be supplemented by complaining about Rent-A-Girlfriend.

I'm a reddit user and Rent-a-Girlfriend is my favorite manga. Of course I'm bias because I own this, lol

Not quite a "Reddit list", but not many surprises here. "Should be anime" category is especially bland.
But it was neat to see I Want To Be A Wall. Despite the lukewarm ANN reception, the series is popular enough to get a shout out. Neat!

Some of the "Beginner" manga are not for beginners, I was expecting generic/easy to pic up yet good stuff stuff like Hero Academia or Tagaki, and various of those are there, but stuff like Call of the Night...

I mean, Eminence in Shadow it's a parody, you can't laugh at a parody if you don't know what it's parodying.

That's quite the list of manga. Definitely a few I probably ought to check out. For a few not on there that I've really enjoyed this past year or so:

There's Something Wrong with Us -- really gripping drama/mystery/romance full of twists and turns, and you get to learn a lot about wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets). A series that needs more love.
Talentless Nana -- very clever supernatural thriller that never stops surprising me -- the story goes in a fascinating direction post-anime adaptation. The protagonist in particular is a brilliant character study.
In/Spectre -- there was a second anime season but it doesn't seem to have made much of a splash -- which is a shame, because this is easily my favorite manga in years. Memorable characters, lovely artwork, and a brilliant twist on detective fiction in general. Really love the dialogue, which perhaps flows better as written prose than spoken dialogue.
City -- this ended recently, but it seems it came and went with hardly anyone noticing it. From the creator of Nichijou, this was basically that but even funnier IMO. Pretty much every chapter got a laugh out of me.

Urg. Don't frighten me like this. I really love the novels and translation is great, while from what I have seen from fantranslation it is pretty garbage. I really hope J-Novel won't discountinue the release abruptly.

I second this about How Do We Relationship? It is very smartly written and besides one shot's and shorter Yuri titles it's the best Yuri title I've read in a decade.

I don't think they'd drop it. (i mean i'd hope not...) I guess JNC's comments were in response to people asking for a print release (because of course we all want the option to collect the series in our preferred format!) but likely holding off on buying digital because of a reluctance to potentially double-dip. (i gave in, and have enjoyed and look forward to settling in with each new LN release :) ) We don't see much about sales numbers in the US, but I'm sure the upcoming anime adaptation can only bring more fans to both the manga and LN releases!

You can read it for free, legally, at the Manga UP! app.

Thus said, I find it quite slow and the main character, unlikeable. Then again, I am not a fan of harems, romantic or otherwise (but hey, its free!)

It never struck me as a harem series. She's really not the romantic type.
