So it's a CG anime, shame...
Both the walking and dance were quite stilted, hopefully it will improve in the actual episodes, but I doubt it. Pair it with an AI à la ChatGPL and see what comes out, though I suspect it's still a few years away. But once something like that comes to play on the production side, well, at least based on what I've seen or heard of ChatGPL, it's very likely to solve the 'uncanny valley' problem of motion in CG, something which is very apparent in the preview here. |

Agreed, while the premise is solid (if overdone) the visuals are, distracting to say the least. I'm especially worried about the pole sequences, since you need to contort your body into some interesting shapes to make them work, and the models aren't usually made to be that flexible. (But also, yeah that walking was BAD)

Avex screwed the pooch by making everything 3D, only the dancing needed to be 3D if they had to have any 3D at all, the walking really sucks, the dancing is okay although a bit stilted. Also, I didn't see wholesome from the dancing, it just proves that you can't take the sexy out of it (it's all in the movements), although Avex tried their best to make it seem wholesome but got mildly sexual as a result.

I also thought only the dancing part would be CG like other idol anime and such. Not the worst animated CG I've seen but definitely a shame.

I was actually surprised at how elegant the pole dancing was --- sure, the art-form has a seedy origin, but that looked pretty gymnastic and balletic to me. But eeek, the walking and movement while conversing.... I was really distracted by the way their eyes didn't seem to focus on one another as they conversed. I don't think I could watch very much of that. As to mixing 3d and 2d animation --- I think shows like Zombie land Saga pulled it off pretty well. But I'm really not very critical when it comes to that sort of thing (so when I complained about it in the previous paragraph, it means that the animation would make more critical eyes bleed). |

I was really looking forward to this show, but that preview looks pretty bad. Maybe the actual show will look better, but I won't want to get my hopes up.

The CG doesn't bother me one bit and honestly, I think people just complain about CG in anime because they just don't want to see CG in anime, even if it's good. You're all welcome to prove me wrong.
As for the show itself, as commendable as it is for trying to make the activity of pole dancing seem elegant and graceful, the moment the show starts to delve into the girls doing it in strip clubs, I'm dropping it like a bad habit. |

ChatGPL isn't a thing AFAICT; ChatGPT is a chatbot AI. It's tuned for language generation, not CGI/motion generation. While ChatGPT is all the talk these days, Stable Diffusion/NovelAI that users leveraged to flood image sites with AI-generated art earlier this year (Google "AI art ban" and see how many hits are there) would be more relevant for anime production, 2D static images at least. I suspect 3D will take a while longer because there aren't many free 3D motion data to train on; ChatGPT was trained on large amount of text from Internet, likely scraped from sites like Wikipedia, Library of Congress, etc. etc. |

That's why I wrote à la(in the manner of), like ChatGPL but made for 3D generation instead of text generation. |

Second trailer;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJm6eoAdqb4 This one looks infinitely better than the first one(though that's a low bar to reach...). Hopefully they also improved the walking scenes(which weren't shown this time)... |

The song is great as well as the atmosphere as well, they really are going the Pripara path, but I doubt it's going to sell well, it lacks an concrete audience; pole dancing is not for kids and direction makes it not sexual enough for the proper adult audience. |
