Wouldn't a Space Channel 5 movie basically be the Jetsons? I wonder if Jacko's estate will approve of his likeness for the movie.

It has more in common with Austin Powers than The Jetsons. Lack of Space Michael will be unfortunate, but I fear it'll probably end up like that awful Jem movie which modernized everything and not funky cool and sexy fun. Ulala's Swingin' Report Show needs to be the right kind of style.

No one can deny Sega is very ambitious about their IP’s being monetized.
All things considered a wacky Space Channel 5 comedy probably would work better for audiences than a Persona movie.

Sega hasn't specified yet. It might be revealed at a later date.

A Space Channel 5 movie. That was unexpected. Had this movie been made when MJ was still alive, no doubt he would reprise his role as Space Jackson for the movie. I wonder if the franchise will get trouble with singer Lady Miss Kier again since she sued Sega and lost after accusing the company that the character Ulala is based on her.
I never expected to hear Comix Zone again and learning it's getting a movie adaptation. Looks it's expanding the game plot and the introducion of a LGBT character suggest it's updating the setting from the radical early 1990s to the current modern era of the 2020s.

A satire of a classic comic character meeting modern comic characters could be pretty funny, but I don't think it's meant to be satire.
Is Ulala is just a Tiktok dancer now? "viral dances" sounds like Tiktok. I'm scared

The Space Channel 5 movie sounded like it could be a fun idea, but then I read the part about "viral dances"...
