Smile of the Arsnotoria was the secret best show nobody watched. I mean, it's niche as all hell so I'm not exactly surprised, but outright refusing to explain the setting's core premise for the entire length of it was weirdly compelling.

Yeah, I agree with that. It's sad to see Arsnotoria so far down the list. Sure, it wasn't the best anime that has ever been produced nor was it for everyone, but it's still sad that so many people were bored by it. Still wondering why that was though, was my first impression, that it would be a cute slice of life show so different from what everyone else was expecting? Was it a certain big listing site refusing to remove the action genre and add the slice of life genre? Or am I just too deep down the slice of life rabbit hole and can enjoy anything as long as it contains cute girls doing cute things, even if it is objectively below average?

Happy to see 3 Sentai shows in the top 4 of the cummulative.

That doesn't sound like a hidden gem to me. I tried to watch it but dropped after 2 episodes.

The top 3 anime are easily interchangeable between 1-2-3. I was awed by Abyss; amazed by Call of the Night; and excited by Lycoris. There was one anime that was not on the list because it did not play in North American - Summer Time Rendering; 25 episodes over the Spring and Summer seasons - Disney product only viewable in the Asia market. This anime would have given at least two of the three a run for their money and position on the list. I hope it comes to North Am officially soon.
