In regards to buying stuff on the Wii U & 3DS eShops after August...
Not true, and I am really getting annoyed that essentially no news outlets online ever bring up it up. After gift card codes become inactive in August, you can still buy stuff for the Wii U & 3DS up until both stores close next March by linking those stores' shared account to a Switch eShop account. Afterwards, you can add funds via the Switch & use that shared wallet to buy stuff on the Wii U & 3DS until the end of next March. Of course this isn't ideal, but this isn't another Wii Shop Channel situation, where the entire store became nigh-useless for close to an entire year. Linking a Wii U/3DS shop account with a Switch account has been a thing pretty much since the Switch launched, and Nintendo has always recommended that people do it from the start, yet absolutely no one online brings this up & instead everyone continually reports as though nothing will be purchasable on the Wii U & 3DS after August, despite it not being true at all. Obviously, it's better to buy now than later, but at least there will be an option to do so up until the end this time around, unlike what happened with the Wii. |

The revelations DLC was actually put on a 3DS cart when Fates was released just as part of a Limited edition version of the game with all 3 game paths in 1 cart. I expect this version of the game is going to jump massively in price. |

Yeah, really excited for Xenoblade 3, though I'll not be able to start it for a week.
Digimon Survive seems like its in a rough position, commercially speaking. After several delays, it finally releases....only to be overshadowed in almost every outlet by a game that moved up its release schedule. I've had it on my radar for some time, as an srpg/vn hybrid is right up my alley...but dang. Hope its good- if so, I'll work back around to it eventually. TO: LUCT is a game that I'm extremely ambivalent on- nothing it does is mediocre. I'm glad its getting rereleased, as the vast majority of the tale and decisions/consequences are amazing. And painful. But I'm glad they're making some mechanical alterations- class levelling was never a good idea for this game, and I remember the menus/UI being irritating. But I do hope to see some other changes, maybe a slight system rebalancing. Better present the Chaos Frame stuff-I think I recall that name correctly. Maybe give crafting another iteration-it was awful, especially in post game. Things like that. |

Honestly I'd rather they just re release the original instead, with maybe a few nice tweak. The remake class system is so awful I'm not even gonna bother playing it (maybe there'll be mod on PC to fix it?). Also would have preferred they release the ogre battle games since they're pretty unique. |

My god I did not expect to see a reference to Zara the Fastest Fairy today. I remember stumbling across it in the eShop like 5 years ago and wondering what the hell I just found.
Also this article is reminding me to play both Amnesia (had it on steam for years) and Fuga. |

I am that weeb who imported a Japanese 3DS back in the day just to play Inazuma Eleven Go, so more Victory Road news is very welcome. Scales of Ares ended up getting its video game tie-in in the form of the astoundingly mediocre Inazuma Eleven SD, so it makes sense to just turn the new project into a properly new title. Akihiro Hino's always been better as a hands-on producer than as a hands-off brand manager, so I'm really, really glad he's grabbed the reins again, even though the wait has kind of sucked. To me it's still one of the best tactical RPG series people will never play because it looks too much like a sports game to draw the usual genre fans. (The region locking and near-nonexistence of US releases is certainly not helping.)
My regular edition of Xenoblade 3 arrived this morning and is sitting here waiting for my work day to wrap. My Digimon Survive preorder did not fare as well, but I suppose it will ship eventually. Here's to another 100 hours of "who put that superboss next to the starter town?" or, as I like to call it, "getting Xenoblade'd." |

The struggle to get a copy of the XC3 CE was so bad for me (up to and including sinking about $50 into an attempt to get a Japanese copy of the artbook before discovering that Nintendo apparently stealth-blocks shipments to forwarding services) that I'm completely burned out on the game without even having watched most of its trailers. The fact that NYC is just just barely far enough away from me to make getting there and back quickly unfeasible feels like insult to injury at this point.
I'm going to wait for give up even picking up a regular copy for now and hope that I feel better about the whole thing in like six months to a year when I can probably find it cheaper. If XC2 is anything to go by, it'll probably be a better experience post-DLC anyway. In the meantime, Grimgrimoire Oncemore is out, and I've got nothing but positive feelings for that. |

Just gonna leave this here and not check back becus I don't want more spoilers
@ The editor in charge of approving these articles and @ Jean-Karlo: Spoilers are never ok without a spoiler tag applied to them UNLESS its with a group of people whose also seen or played the same thing. There are new births every day, years will pass and eventually they'll be able to play oh say, Final Fantasy 7, then there are those like myself, who've only played Kingdom Hearts and never touched a Final Fantasy game b4... and just so happened to buy Final Fantasy 7 on Nintendo Switch a month or two back but haven't had the time to get to playing it because time is not something i have much of and with SO MUCH media to watch and play, if I get to cus I don't most days for video games sadly (And only get watch anime becus I watch it while i eat) becus there's so much going on in life. So to come here, an article I enjoy reading and have done so for the last 3 or 4 writers (Which is I believe close to it not a decade) and get spoiled for something that most tend to avoid spoiling, is NOT ok, it not only ruins the enjoyment and exp. one has which Jean-Karlo seems to not care if they spoil something for others, but it can ruin the game, the char, or anything about the game or anime or any media when a spoiler is dropped. Yes I am well aware FF7 is an OLD game, but I started this off with a great example of two instances where someone reading your article, would be spoiled and that isn't ok to do to ur readers, at all. Let me repeat this, i ENJOY and look forward to reading This Week in Games each and every week. But, if spoilers outside of a spoiler tag are going to be dropped into TWIG's articles, well, it pains me to say and with a very sad heart but, I'll stop reading TWIG. Lastly, it's not imo professional at all to drop spoilers into an article for anything, esp spoilers for a game when the article's focus is on gaming. And this wasn't the only spoiler dropped either, which ya'll are aware of, not cool for that either even though i personally do not care about the other spoiler, I can assure u someone else reading would care. I hope you find this helpful and informative and its my hope this doesn't happen again becus if it does I won't be reading TWIG anymore which sucks... Edit: P.s. If the forum has to abide by Rule 12. Use spoiler tags appropriately, then those writing articles should ALSO have to abide by those same rules. |

This is just a ridiculous example of “but what about me” I’ve seen in awhile. You’re not advocating for not spoilers. You’re throwing a fit over any mention of entertainment. No one is obligated to avoid saying Aerith died just in the same fashion no one is obligated to pretend Darth Vader isn’t Luke’s father. “New people are born everyday, so never write something a baby could potentially read” is honestly a hilarious end point to the logic pretzel you’ve gone through to justify this weird rant over how dare you be exposed to a well known cultural zeitgeist. Not exactly the first time you’ve done this either, so I can pretty safely assume that as usual this is more indignant bluster and you’ll be back to doing the same again in the future. |

This claim is patently ridiculous. If I or any other writer have to be considerate of every single possible reader never having been exposed to anything, that basically means I can't discuss anything past the most surface, cursory level. So nevermind never talking about one of the most famous and tragic deaths in gaming, this goes so far as to include stuff like not even being able to discuss combat mechanics for games because establishing rules only to change them later is a well-used trope in game design. Nevermind Aerith, that means I cant talk about the Soul Canon in Fuga, because thats an early twist in the game; I can't discuss Erik in Dragon Quest Treasures because he's a player character who joins your party later in Dragon Quest XI. Hell, I couldn't talk about Rex meeting Pyra in Xenoblade 2 because the two of them meeting and joining doesn't happen until half an hour in. Your demand is unreasonable, it is against the spirit of this column and it is not condusive towards anything resembling a positive reader experience for anyone at all. If all you want is a list of upcoming games with no discussion of potentially-spoilery material, GameStop's preorder list is right here, for your convenience. However, I cannot walk around the pitfall of not "spoiling" every last videogame that comes through this column. It is unreasonable and simply not the style of writing I practice, was trained to practice, or was brought on board to practice. I apologize that you are no longer interested in continuing your readership and hope you are able to find another column that makes you happy. I will resume writing this column under my usual style next week, should you change your mind.[/url] |

The FF7 Aerith spoiler is Luke's father-level pop culture knowledge at this point. And I've never seen a Star Wars movie before! It's a big event and I can understand why someone might get upset if they never knew it beforehand (perspective-wise, to them, it's no different from someone spoiling the newest Marvel movie's big twist), but like...
...where have you been all this time...?! Anyway, I was hired for a group that was going to translate news stories for the game as their main translator, but I just got a notice of the delay of my Digimon: Survive game, so I won't be playing for a few weeks and I'm super upset about it. I sincerely hope I don't come across spoilers. Gonna finish FFXIV in the meantime, I guess... |

Well, I thought Jean-Karlo would go for the 3-peat with 3 great articles in a row to continue the hot start, but no one's perfect.
That's right! We are Jean-Karlo. Though it is strange that there is no Gunvolt 3 mention in the article when it has been nearly 6 years since 2016 GOTY Gunvolt 2. What's up with that?
Now that's comforting.
As for what was said and shown in this section: So I'm the only one here who isn't in a genjutsu because you typed a whole essay as if it was announced. A PlayStation store price tracker website and a random twitter user is not Square Enix (You know, the company that is suppose to announce it but haven't.... yet?). Do I need to call Kamijou Touma? Don't repeat Heidi's mistakes.
As for what was said in this section: Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how wrong they are. Let's start fresh next week. |

Please don't post anything like this again. You wrote this like you're his boss or he's beholden to you in some way. If you want to talk about Gunvolt 3, talk about Gunvolt 3 and why you're excited about it. You do not get to chastise or scold the writers here. I can't even tell based on what you wrote that Jean-Karlo actually made an error or not, just that you're being picky about his linked sources. If you disagree with his opinion on Digimon spoilers, write WHY. That's how discussion works. "Jean-Karlo might think X but from my perspective, Y" is perfectly fine. |
