This concert was awesome. Highlight of AX to me. I've been waiting three years for this concert to happen since her canceled one at AX 2004, and now I finally I was able to see my idol, Haruko Momoi, perform in the US. Thank you Momoi! It was a great concert, I wouldn't have missed it for the world!!!

Also, after seeing this, I'm planning on going to Japan in December for Halko's 30th birthday (which will no doubt have a concert). Comiket will be a must since it's around that time as well (which I've ALWAYS been wanting to go to...).

Her concert saved AX for me.
I was having a pretty bad time compared to last year (Although, it was partly my own problem "Note to self: NEVER take a costume with more props than your unmulti-tasking brain can handle")

Come Monday, I was pretty tired (I woke up at 5:30 AM Sat. and Sun. to get to the SOS Brigade autograph session, not even going to comment on that one Anime cry)

and I wasn't looking forward to spending hours in line. However, somehow, there were virtually no lines in. I was like O_O!!! *OMG no line*
Got in, heard her 21 Century song, loved it, and was totally hyped again (It's amazing what energy Halko can give you Anime hyper)

Glowsticks XDXD I got a few free, and then bought another 4 Anime hyper

I LOVED the concert. Halko was amazing. Then she went and brought out manzo!!! OMG. I didn't even realize it was him (I didn't hear the announcement) until the My Pace Daioh whistling came on. I seriously almost cried with happiness. I am such a fangirl o_o;;

But yeah. She was completely amazing. When she was crying during the final song, I almost cried (again) too.

I looked on iTunes USA, and she actually has stuff on there o_o
Search Halko Momoi, and she has her Yume no Baton single (They spell it Yumeno Baton) and her Momo-i Quality album there. Yay.

Yeah that sounded like it was an epicly awesome concert. I'm glad her decision to concentrate on the concert paid of so wonderfully. I wish I could have been there.

How did I know PantsGoblin would be the first person to post in this thread before I clicked on the "discuss this in the forum" link?

Sounds like one of those concerts where I'd want to put a bullet throw my head within the first couple minutes just to drown out all the entranced fans. Not like she really had to do anything other than show up. Definitely doesn't sound like my kind of music, but hey just to go through the motions, "Halko Momoi was Teh Bomb and made Anime Expo 2007 Worth Everyone's While".

Odd's of me every going to any anime convention ever have dropped substantially for the forseeable future, not only for the perceived disorganization that goes into a lot of them (I value organization and competency), but for the kind of guests they have. I'd sooner be in a 105 degree fahrenheight room with somebody interesting and experienced like Yoshiyuki Tomino or Hideaki Anno giving their life story than in a concert hall with a bunch of slobbering fanboys watching the likes of Aya Hirano or Haruko "Halko" Momoi fidget along to some bland cookie cutter idol-pop music. It comes down to straight talking vs. image talking.

All the better, we probably wouldn't want you there anyway.

Uh, no. Not really. You do know how many people were disappointed with the SOS Brigade concert, right? And they had LOADS more insane fans at their concert. Halko's concert after AX Idol wasn't that great either. Lots of technical problems etc. So just showing up doesn't mean everything.

Sigh, I had great seats to this concert. Didn't expect much from this concert after the AX Idol incident, although I later found out that there were massive technical problems when she sung that night. I expected AX to delay the concert like usual so we planned on getting there at 30 minutes after the concert has started. To my surprise, the concert did not get delayed and started on time Shocked .

After 5 or so minutes, I finally got into the groove and started to enjoy her music with her squeaky voice. Overall, it was an amazing concert, dare I say the best concert at AX this year. The usage of glowsticks, jumping around, chanting with other fanboys... God what an amazing sensation. Near the end of the concert, watching her cry out of happiness was very emotional. It felt as if all of her energy passed through me, something I have never experienced in my life before. I left the concert with a giant smile on my face, such a great way to end the last day of AX.

I have never listen to any of her music prior and wished that I had. Realizing that I missed the first 30 minutes sucks, and I truly regret it. It also sucks how there was such a low turnout for her concert in comparison with the others. Going to this concert has truly made me enjoy this years AX much more. In my opinion, best AX I've ever went to.

I'm kinda bummed I missed her at AX, so maybe I will seek out performances of hers in Tokyo as well... 30th birthday you say? Hmmm. :3

I'm glad that she stayed and remained faithful to her fans, it could have turned out a lot worse. The thing about Japanese construction companies having theme songs actually came up on the show called Trivia once, now that was funny.

That was an awesome concert. To me, the only big disappointments were the SOS autograph session (damn you bandai) and the concert, both of which were....ok I think we've all heard the complaints.

Before the concert, I knew Momoi only a little bit, but after that, I happily bought one of her albums (the cover train one), and got some posters, one of which is now on my wall.

I am also the proud owner of one of the 4~5 signed red balls she threw out at the end of the concert. I very wisely stood up on my chair and intercepted one as she threw it out Twisted Evil

I think the guests this year were totally awesome (Otakon this year pales by comparison...unless they have more unannounced guests)... but disorganization just killed the experience for me. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to talk to Hirano Aya but AX screwed up big time and in the end everyone left tired and dissatisfied.

Yeah!!! Thanks for the good recap Very Happy

Momoi's music and voice certainly aren't everyone's cup of tea, obviously including the article writer lol, but I think everyone had fun at her concert due to all the energy. I am glad she could make a lot of new fans and all of us longtime fans could support her and have so much fun!! She really has a great stage presence to get everyone excited and is good at performing live with lots of energy. Plus the fans worked so hard to get call books and glow sticks to everyone so we could have a live just like in Japan.. The Japanese fans of Momoi go very crazy at her concerts, I was so glad to get to feel that same kind of atmosphere!! Thank you to everyone who cheered Very Happy Everyone being so nice made it into an experience Momoi will not forget, it was very emotional Very Happy

Just a quick note, it is Gura Gura, not “Guro Guro”.. Guro guro sounds a little scary!! lol (and tsugi instead of sugi, I think, not to nit pick, just saying Anime smile )

Cool! I'm the even more deliriously happy owner of the Power Glove she threw out Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil It wasn't hard to explain to my friends at all, they thought it was awesome! They wanted to know if I would try and get it working, but she trimmed the cord so it's a no go. I got bonus points for it being a Famicon one and not a Nintendo...in tribute I wore it while playing Ooendan for the DS later in the day. It was a little difficult due to bulk ^^;

It was a totally awesome concert though. I only knew two of the songs, but I still had a great time, and a great souvenir Very Happy

Personally, I adore Halko Momoi's voice on every octave, but I don't think I'd ever want to go to one of her live concerts. And it's just as well, since I don't expect to see her performing in South Africa anytime soon. Embarassed

Oh, gosh, I just got a haunting vision of Halko Momoi covering a Beach Boys album.

Hey now, I can kind of picture her singing "God Only Knows."

Of course, I can consequently picture rows and rows of wine glasses shattering.
