Wow, Yokohama has finally been licensed! I've seen the first two OVAs from 1998 and enjoyed them, but I was one of those people who assumed the manga would never be officially translated into English. Great news.

Amazing news for Yokohama Shopping Log!
It has been my favorite Manga for basically as long as I have been reading Manga, and I'm really excited to finally have it in print in English. I hope that the color pages are retained. It's really important to the experience. |

HOLY. SH*T.
I started reading Yokohama years and years ago and never finished it, but always meant to go back to it. I remember loving every page, so this is amazing news! |

Having seen Yokohama Shopping Log mentioned in these forums a handful of times over the years, I'm curious to finally read it and see what all the buzz is about! Cheers, Seven Seas ^^

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
... *hem* Apologies for breaking the forum formatting. This news has similarly broken my brain. I already own three sets of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou in Japanese, but I will be thrilled at last to own one in English! [EDIT: Some Hs removed. Do not break the forum formatting. ~Zalis |

YKK in physical format? Wow, never expected that. Guesss I'll be doing my first non-Vinland Saga physical manga purchase in a very long time.

Like everyone else here excited for Yokohama. There needs to be a Discotek of Manga and while you could argue for Viz they've had a lot of their titles since the beginning when they were new. With this and their great release of Dragon Half maybe Seven Seas can be such one in the future. I mean it doesn't look like we will get much from Dark Horse anymore. Someone please re-license Outlanders!

I am almost at a loss of words. This is definitely one of the best surprises I've had in recent memory. Been a fan for almost 10 years, and have amassed a collection of almost all merch possible. I was always told that this was a manga that would never get licensed. I understand why they said that, but I'm really glad they were wrong.
Now all I need is for someone to license the OVAs. Last edited by DangeresqueIII on Thu Feb 17, 2022 8:52 am; edited 1 time in total |

WOW!!! YKK comes to English!
I own (Just one set) of the Japanese manga, and have read the scanslations. One of my all time favorite manga. Thank you so MUCH Seven Seas! 5 Omnibus editions.. hmmm. They are kinda thin tankoubons so I can see that. Still thrilled! |

Witches and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou being officially released in English in the same year is a [expletive] dream come true. I've owned both in Japanese (including both releases of YKK) for years and had long given up hope for either to ever come over.
I [expletive] yelled when I saw the news about YKK. Pre-ordering the hell out of this and gonna really push this hard on some folks I know. This is absolutely wonderful!! |

WOW WOW WOW!! Words can barely describe how vastly, hugely mindbogglingly thrilled I am to read that Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is finally getting an English language publication. I never expected this would happen.
That really is great news to wake up to! |

YKK is without a doubt one of the best iyashikei manga ever. I will definitely be buying this. |

This is huge news…. YKK is probably my favorite manga of all time. I have been a fan of the manga since almost 25 years now and started to collect the original japanese volumes when volume 5 was the latest one in Japan. It took me seven years to buy the remaining 9 volumes and I was sad when the manga ended in 2006. I showed my physical copies to German and French publishers at conventions back then in hope they might pique their interest, but alas they told me the art and content wouldn’t sell in those markets …
I have also got a few merch articles which I treasure a lot. It‘s strange that the YKK manga is starting to get released in the west only now, after all these years being a fan favorite among western manga connoisseurs. It has never been officialy released outside Japan (except Taiwan) until the French release by Meian last year. A Russian release has just been announced too. It‘s either a huge coincidence, or there have been rights issues for years now, preventing the manga to get officially translated. Maybe there‘s a new anime in the works?
Woah, you sir have an amazing merch collection! I have a few of these items as well, but I envy you for these nice cels and the big towel (dakimakira cover?). |
