Yes! Not only did they go for the female Commander Gentiane just like the manga adaptation but also got Solid Snake to voice Kryuger.

The only thing that makes me a little wary of this adaptation is that Asahi Productions is animating it, and none of their stuff seemed impressive. If the story is legit good, then that could overcome it.

Huge fan of the game's story and characters, but I'll be first to admit that the in-game pre-Singularity plot is not all that exciting, so the anime following manga adaptation in this case is definitely a plus.

That said, I hope we get to see the DEFY squad animated someday

I'm excited but hesitant at the same time.

1) History shows that when a game like this is made into an anime, it is turned into a mix between cute girls doing cute things and idiotic battles(Kancolle, Azur Lane, etc)

2) Adding into my point with #1, as usual with these game > anime, the most popular characters aren't the ones made into a main character, but only the lesser popular ones. And the popular ones are turned into minor characters with little screen time.

3) Look who's working on it.

It would be nice if this is a true gun-themed anime with more action, less moe moe kawaii friendship trash, and that's what I hope for. Stay true to the atmosphere of the game.
