So not only does Raildex series and Heavy Object have the same writer, but the same studio(J.C. Staff) did both anime adaptations and Funimation dubbed both anime.

A shame the novels never got an English release.

^ Was going to say "I guess I'll have to get the LN now" but without Japanese reading fluence and no possibility of a second season, barring a miracle it looks like the Heavy Object has come to a complete halt for me... Sad

I will always appreciate this series for how wonderfully it named its characters. From "Hey, we're Italian here" to "I know how to wield English as a weapon and I'm not afraid to use it", we end up with such gems as Prizewell City Slicker, Wydine Uptown and Floretia Capistano.

And, yes, I have the physical release of this show just for those names.

Well, with sweetening the deal - considering it is Kamachi novel, it's not really a problem to read it on English cause the fan translations of them go really fast (all current 18 volumes of them are already translated on English) - because of one known translator in LN community.

Maybe now they'll bring back the anime! (they won't, but I can dream.)

Thanks WANNFH, I didn't think of that! I looked up Baka-Tsuki from my Pirate (?) days and they had it all in ePUB. Still, anime is way better than LNs dammit!

Really wish Yen Press would give this series a chance and bring it to the West.

Damn, I do like this series/setting. Maybe since Anime fueled by Light Novels these days maybe they will do another series. However, I doubt it. Gaming basically replaced essentially everything as source anime now. Even hard core scifi and light scifi like Heavy Object.
