Speaking of non 2D anime, there’s the Haikyuu Stop Motion Doll Animation shorts if anyone’s a Haikyuu fan. They’re not available in English or available officially outside Japan but the official YouTube channel posted the trailer and one of the episodes https://youtube.com/channel/UCoG-H6mgt8vwZ7cKVhUqNAw

This may be a super hot take, but as someone who never really warmed to Kare Kano (I endured a marathon for a good friend's birthday party), I genuinely, heartily enjoyed the low-budget popsicle stick finale episodes for bursting at the scenes with enthusiasm and a real go-getter attitude. Something about being able to just cut loose from the constraints of "normal" anime just made it a joy to watch for me. Very Happy

I found Molcar late at night while browsing anime with a bunch of friends and it was just so amazing and wholesome it became our weekly ritual to watch the new ep together every week. The entire show is just pure fun and it makes me happy no matter what

Pui Pui Molcar is a fun little series, and it's led me to check out Tomoki Misato's other stop motion works as well. My Little Goat is especially good, though I wouldn't recommend it without a whole load of content warnings since it focuses a lot on the subject of child abuse.

My only gripe with Pui Pui Molcar is that I don't agree on guinea pigs noise being written as "Pui". They obviously say "Oui" like little Frenchmen

That's one of those TWIA that's designed to make me watch several hours worth of stuff just cause of one article, huh? Seriously, thanks for this TWIA, it was full of interesting stuff about animation that is rarely talked about, and it reminded me of the cool stuff I've already seen or I have to see someday.

Without a doubt, one of the best and fun TWIA so far!

I enjoyed the show from start to finish, and still enjoyed those last episodes with the popsicle stick finale's a lot. Razz

My Little Goat is currently available online again, for free and with English subs, in the online Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2021 until 30 June (not just 21 June, as the article states at the time of writing this).
