I guess this means Crunchyroll will continue to exist as a separate entity from Funimation for the rest of the year if they're already announcing fall shows.

I seriously doubt it. Once the deal has officially gone through we should start seeing at a bare minimum some changes being made (my guess is still no later than summer we start hearing things.)

What? Amazon has never had anything to do with it (unless they streamed S1 in Japan). It’s a Crunchyroll co-production.

It's going to be interesting to see what the new dynamic will be like between them now since Crunchyroll still ostensibly has their own shows, several of which are getting second seasons in the future (and obviously Re:Zero is likely to continue).

I see them shutting down the Funimation streaming service and moving it over to Crunchyroll but keeping everything else separate.

FUNi IIRC was handling the dub, or at least putting it on their service.

Crunchyroll produces the Shield Hero dub at Bang Zoom in California. Crunchyroll streams it both the sub and dub, and they share the dub and sub with Funimation (who also release the blurays), I guess as a remnant of the old partnership.

Everything old is new again, so at the least, it shouldn't be difficult to re-integrate everything.
