Huh. You'd think that Sentai would get it since they already have the series. Eh, maybe EA will bring back the cast from the series, hopefully.

Okay...so what about the English dub? I wouldn't be surprised if Eleven Arts was unaware that Sentai recently dubbed the tv series. Fans are going to be pissed if the English dubs don't match.

That seems kind of random. I know there is no requirement that the same company license all parts of something, but this feels a bit out of nowhere. Maybe the intend to outsource a dub (if they do dub it) to Sentai?

Hopefully they do a stream release instead of trying to kill people with a theatrical release like Sentai tried with Made in Abyss

Eleven Arts usually goes with LA studios so it's probably safe to expect a new dub cast.
One thing to worry about though is with video masters because as seen with both Sound Euphonium movies, their Blu-ray releases used the theatrical versions and not the home video ones. Examples: Liz and the Blue Bird (see gifs in tweets below these if you can't tell the differences): https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1104660693985288193 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1104705135572180992 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1105069627963408384 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1105077842931462144 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1105883306350927872 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1107695712030982148 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1108378433606709253 https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1109751667182833664 Our Promise: A Brand New Day https://twitter.com/LUCKYMIZORE/status/1268189577786716161 |

They got the Funi cast back for the Laughing Under The Clouds movies. I don't see why they would recast for this. |

I mean Dawn of the Deep Soul did have a stream release. At least here in the states it did. |

Sentai still has virtual cinema screenings of the Made in Abyss film available for $20. https://madeinabyss.eventive.org/welcome?utm_medium=site&utm_source=sfw&utm_campaign=madeinabyss3&utm_content=homepagebanner&utm_term=watchnow Eleven Arts did offer virtual screenings of The Wonderland and the Sound Euphonium - Our Promise: A Brand New Day for $10 during the spring. I guess Eleven Arts could offer virtual screenings again. Eleven Arts did license PA Works’ previous film Maquia. It’s likely their previous experience of working with Showgate helped them secure the distribution rights. |

I never understood companies who license sequels to shows that were previously released by rival companies. It always comes across as kind of scummy to me.

Licensing confusion aside, I'm glad we got a release. This was one of my favorite shows from the 2010s, so I'm pumped to watch the sequel.
