So this is more of a change up on the Japanese publishing side and doesn’t effect the North American publishers?

Zatsuyō-gakariken Shien Jutsushi wa Party Tsuihō ni Akogareru: Seken wa Tsuihō Boom nanoni, Ore wo Kadaihyōka Suru Party Member-tachi ga Keshite Tebanasou Toshite Kurenai sure is an... interesting name.

Does Shosetsuka even have a character limit for titles?

It... can affect NA publishers... see Hayate x Blade. I would hope that it doesn't actually affect things, but there is some precedent.

My God, the length of those titles! Is there some sort of award for having the longest LN title?

I know this has been a trend for the last few years if not longer but are they ever gonna go back to you know 'normal' length titles?
The odd paragraph for a title cropping up here and there is fine but when every single title has more than 5 words to it it just frustrates me.
I know it has no impact on the actual content of the writing but it's just the older fan in me.

They have these long titles since the site WN's are posted on need to draw in readers with really detailed titles. I guess they could shorten a title once it gets published as an LN but I'd imagine they feel it's better to keep the 2 similar. A lot of times they'll just get some nickname such as Bofuri.

Guess Square Enix is trying for the longest novel title award.

But based on the six 'new' light novel titles that Square Enix has licensed, none of them sound that interesting. There is going to have to be some darn good writing in them to appeal to me.
