I've always wanted to play Super Mario Galaxy, but that price is ridiculous. Also, why are these games limited runs? I can understand the physical version, but digital Confused ?

Making the digital limited run is inexcusable. What is this, the Disney Vault?

At first I was excited about the 3D All-Stars but essentially it's a bunch of ROMs for $60. Nintendo has a ton of money and resources- I'd happily pay $60 for a remake of Super Mario 64 on the Switch. But this offers nothing new. This is good news for some people who never got a chance to play certain Mario games, but personally, it feels like a bit of a letdown. Meh.

Well, I don’t know about the rest of you but I am quite excited for this!
A long time Mario fan since my early childhood!

Happy 35th anniversary, Mario!

No idea. Although since I'll be buying it it doesn't bother me so much as they're just going to randomly remove Mario 35 from the eShop next year, since it's digital only. No idea why they'll just remove it, it looks fun and something I'd definitely be more interested in than Tetris 99

Not entirely true. They've been adjusted from 4:3 to 16:9, which that alone would be worth picking them up if what the Direct said is true. I know there's HD resolution mods and widescreen hacks for those games on emulators, but it's nice to see something official from Nintendo.

I'm looking forward to the 3D All Stars release, have been craving to play Galaxy for years.

Of course Nintendo would make its release limited though - this is the reason people emulate these older games.

I was really excited about Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy, especially as I never got to play Sunshine and 64 is a childhood favorite. But they’re really asking a lot for non-remastered ports they’re only selling for a limited time for some bizarre reason. Even Disney finally stopped their Disney Vault nonsense after years of demand. We don’t need Nintendo to go that nonsense route.

Nintendo does Nintendo things, baffling decisions left and right.

I think if another Mario & Luigi RPG is ever developed, Level-5 should do it. If they can do original properties like Yo-Kai Watch, they could definitely have an interesting take on Mario.

Physical limited release? Nothing new, I have seen this with third party companies after a year or so of release, some even less than that.

Digital limited releases with not just the collection but Super Mario Bros. 35 for 6-7 months is ridiculous though and this doesn't even have the same issues as a licensed game that lasts 3-4 years (or 2 years in JoJo HD's case).

Didn't you read that they're getting remasterization of sorts?

Your rude tone wasn’t necessary and “of sorts” isn’t really a vote of confidence that it will be a significant amount that this is being hyped up as. I will still try to get this because I love Mario but if I can’t due to Nintendo’s artificial scarcity release oh well.

I didn’t mean to sound rude, just asking given what I heard.

Someone on Twitter suggested that these might be limited run because Nintendo are planning a remaster/remake of these games later on and this release was just a mad scramble to have something ready for the 35th anniversary. It might explain why 3D World seems to be the only one released on it's own with new content.
