I'm buying the Cleopatra BD just to say "Great job guys!" to Discotek for what I assume was hell for getting the long lost dub. I hope the can find the dub masters for Mon Colle Knights and 3rd season of Medabots.

I'm glad we're finally getting Symphogear on BD after all this time.

You're confusing Cleopatra with 1001 Nights. There is no dub for Cleopatra. 1001 Nights has the long lost dub they got.

When it's mentioned that there's a ton of special features on the Symphogear blu ray, I wonder what else that set has in store for us... Smile

I know they said they weren't looking for bootlegs, but all of Medabots Season 3 is on YouTube, seemingly ripped from when it was streaming on Amazon. I wonder if that's good enough quality for them, or if maybe the channel owner has them in better quality?

This reconfirms that Discotek is the official distributor of Crunchyroll streaming titles in limbo. Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, Gabriel Dropout, The Eccentric Family 2, Amachu! (season 1), Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, Girly Air Force, Uma Musume Pretty Derby and Ms.vampire who lives in my neighborhood would be great pickups in my opinion.

I would be astonished if they found it, but there actually may be a Cleopatra dub from around that same time. There are some advertisements and promo materials/sale sheets from its limited US run that give the impression one may have been shown at an art theater once and then was lost to time. I believe the evidence I saw was in panels/columns by Mike Toole and Dave Merrill around when Belladonna of Sadness was dug up.

Anyway, just saying it's possible one may turn up one day when someone is sorting through old TV rights for Jack and the Witch or something.

Also with Caligula being confirmed as a Crunchyroll title, it'll be interesting to see if they have more from the PonyCan USA side of that list.

It likely doesn’t exist. We dug up info on the US theatrical release and it was subtitled. It may have actually been the first subtitled anime release! But we can find no trace of a dub actually existing.

I'm happy to see Isuca get licensed. I enjoyed it when I saw it on CR and put it on my list of titles I would buy when it got a physical release. Didn't realize I would be waiting almost 5 years!

Let’s hope so. Rakugo (and possibly Eizouken, when I get around to it) is at the top of my license wish list, up there with Angel’s Egg, Kemonozume and the proto-Ghibli WMT titles we’ll never get.

The only country I know of that got a Cleopatra dub was Germany.

I'm so excited we finally get a date for Symphogear. I've been keeping an eye out for news ever since Discotek announced it months ago (years? Who can tell anymore?).

Dear lord, Discotek never takes a break. I think my wishlist has more of their titles than any other distributor just based on sheer volume.
