I was a bit iffy on the first episode, but I had heard that the manga does get better as it goes along so I still wanted to give this adaptation a chance, and while still not amazing I did enjoy that 2nd episode a lot more than the first. So I'm interested to see where things will go from here, and if things will keep improving or not.

" If Hina traveled for five years, how did she get money for food, clothing, and shelter? "
I thought exactly the same. It is not like he was rich when her mom die, so how? lol Another thing is how is it possible she didn't learn ANYTHING in five years traveling around? Yeah random thoughts lol
Anyways, about the show itself, I think it has potential, the fanservice was really annoying tho. Well, we can see that Nana knows stuff since she was expecting Licht do sth about the army dude, so she probably will help Hina with the Ace or sth... for now, I guess, I will watch the third episode

What has me confused is if lichts count goes down everytime he is rejected by a woman then why did it go down when HE rejected a woman (rather than her rejecting him) at the end of episode 2?

Watched the first two episodes together and enjoyed it, though I've read a few chapters (some time ago) already, so we're probably an episode or two away from new material for me. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes
Also really like how they showed him blowing everyone away just by stepping.

Yeah, part way through watching I was wondering this myself. How can someone so world traveled be so naive?

What does "rejected" mean? His count didn't change when the women in town were kicking him around like a football. It didn't change when Hina kicked him away and didn't buy him a meal. It didn't change when he broke her heart by stealing from her (from her pov). It changed when she said she hated him, but the women in town were none too fond of him either. The boob lady's interpretation of his Count might be a little off or incomplete.
Hina's riding helmet is going to drive me nuts. It looks stupid and I don't know why she's wearing it since she travels on foot.

I really hope they drop the forceful spreading of Hina's legs soon...It's distracting, horrible and getting old fast given how little story there is at this point...And yes, her incessant cluelessness despite being a 5 year veteran of travel is getting old too...

its kinda obvious why though. this whole series is screaming "TRIGUN/TRINITY BLOOD CROSSOVER" and like hima, the female companions for both abel and vash were in a way quite dense if nothing else. the same for their perverted idiocy towards other women!!!

Lynn seemed just as clueless about the world she lives in, to a degree not explained by her living in a peaceful bubble. At least Hina had the excuse of always traveling alone and apparently rarely getting to have a conversation with the townspeople she occasionally encountered. Either women aren't allowed education in this world, or Licht is a magnet for really stupid ones.

Im quite curious about this statement at least regarding trigun since Milly is shown to be "simple" in her flashbacks but everyone treats her with respect. She is shown both as powerful and still able to glean intelligent decisions and perhaps see real life better then more intelligent characters. As for the rest of the female characters in Trigun they all come across as both in power and more than capable of out thinking men. Vash in particular treats women with allot of respect, he wears on his sleeve that he loves women but he never goes past teasing without express permission. Women in the series are seen as both wiser and more capable of building the decent foundations of community then the more self centred power hungry men.
I mean as an example of misogynistic exploitation of women Trigun is one of the last series I would sight as an example.

And Then There's Licht... Indeed...
Edit: I'm not even going to waste the space on this show for another post @yeehaw It says something about the level of interest a show generates that people notice hats on characters rather than what's going on and I agree, it is ugly.

I actually liked Licht in episode two, he seemed to actually be a kind and caring hero and his pained expressions made me care about him even though I absolutely hated him in episode one. But then in the third he's back to being the most annoying character on earth??
Also Hinas hat is very ugly

It occurred to me that Licht may not be over 300 years old, but the sword likely is. He could be the great grandson of the original sword owner. He could have picked up the mantle of being an ace, especially of the previous sword owners also wore masks.

Licht: Research into flying is strictly forbidden in Alcia. The penalty is death, no questions asked.
Hina: What does that mean?
Licht: ...
Pelmo: He's right. Try to fly and you'll be caught and executed.
Hina: Huh?
Licht and Pelmo: ...
Yes, Hina is too stupid to live, but she still doesn't deserve the sexual harassment, regardless of the lame excuses the anime offers for his assaults. I think I'm on the verge of tabling this and just reading the reviews to find out what the scoop is on the numbers and the Abyss and such mysteries. It's just unfolding so slowly on all that, I'm not sure how much longer I can put up with the rest of the crap it keeps shoveling, and so far there hasn't been one character I've really liked.

I see, so it's really OK.... While the quotes sound uncomfortably like those of an abuser, I believe that they are just echoing what the show is portraying which is why I have avoided it the last few weeks and only read the reviews. Doesn't seem to be getting better either...

I’d pay to see another man sexually assault licht so he can see how it feels to be on the other end of unwelcome advances. Seriously, for all the positive points, I just can’t stand it anymore. I’m out.
