Final Arc? Spinoff? Change of magazine>
If it's all about new season or other anime/ game stuff, Dr. Stone could wait for Jump Festa to announce something. Should be manga-related live action/ stageplay

I would be very surprised (and a little disappointed) if the announcement is not for a second season of the anime.

It will be season 2, live action, stage play, manga ending soon or something I haven't thought of

I'm pretty sure its the manga entering its final arc. And I have a feeling it will be a long long arc

Most likely Season 2, since we're approaching the end of the anime. That or a movie.

I hope it’s a season 2 since the announcement comes a few days after the anime ends but I’ve heard the br dvd sales were terrible so I’m a little pessimistic. Could definitely see it being a final arc announcement or video game

It'll be a brief hiatus. About a month. And then the final mega-arc.

I am not worried about Japanese disc sales because Crunchyroll is a co-producer. If CR wants more Dr. Stone anime, more will be made.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. As long as the show is doing good numbers for Crunchyroll, they could give it a second season.

I think it will likely be either news of the manga entering it’s final arc or season two. I’m not sure why people think a second season wouldn’t happen. It’s a Shonen Jump title and it’s reasonably popular and as other users have pointed out it’s being backed by Crunchyroll.

BR DVD sales don't matter for Jump titles. Promised Neverland didn't sell well either.
