Ah, I remember really liking that anime. Can't believe it's been 7 years...sadly never got a season 2, and the LNs never licensed.

On the skirts, I didn't notice anything. Decided to have a 2nd look, and still don't see it. There are additional lines in there where I could see someone could mistaken it for being see-through. But, when I looked closely due to the OP, the lines don't match up with where the legs/hips would be of the character. Laughing

I didn't realize there was more story to make another season. Seemed pretty final to me, a little a bit vague and new characters show up but relationships firmly decided. But sure enough, the novels were still being written as the anime ended.

The "transparency" is simply an effect of the artist drawing the skirt over a sketched figure.
It looks like he cheated a bit too, making the curves of her legs from the figure sketch become folds in the skirts, so he didn't have to erase the lines. It's a rougher sketch than you'd get in a novel but artists often sketch that way. It's not like he was drawing the pattern on her panties.
