I enjoyed Tri as a whole but the way they glossed over the 02 kids was always one of my biggest disappointments so I’m excited to finally see them on screen again. I can’t wait to see Veemon and the gang digivolving again. The new art style also looks really great and has more of that old school Digimon feeling to it.

Is this a continuation of .tri? If so, are they going to address what happened to them? Here's hoping it's in its own canon, but that's going to be unlikely.

This movie takes place several years after the events of Tri where the Digidestined are either in college or have careers of their own now so it's still in the same canon but I wouldn't expect them to address the plot points of Tri specifically. This movie is more pure nostalgia fanservice.

The 02 kids have plenty of fans as evident by the backlash Tri got for not including them. Chiaki J Konaka has stated before he has no interest in doing a Tamers sequel.

You mean the CD that came with the Blu-ray Box? I wouldn't put much into that since Adventure & Frontier's sets had those as well.

I would much rather they invest in new original stories after this movie like Appmon as Digimon sequels rarely seem to live up to fan expectations and Tamers ended at a perfect spot.

Tamers didn't end on a perfect spot. I want to know if the Tamers got their Digimon back.
