This is excellent news for me. I get to stay within my state and go to a place that I'm very familiar with. Also, the dates shouldn't be too much of a pain. I'm really looking forward to this convention next summer.

FINALLY!

They held it on finals weekend every year before! That was freaking NUTS!

I`m glad they finally changed it and came to their senses. Thy should expect attendance to jump greatly next time.

Noo. Anime cry... Father's day weekend was perfect. I might be in HK next year while it's on.

I totally agree. 3 conventions in a month? That's a blow to Mr. Bank account...

...and racking up frequent flier miles. I swear, we both should just take the entire month off, it'll be easier that way...

...also, no more Coronado. Please?

It's about fricking time they did that. They should have known, for at least 2 years now, that they've gone up smack dab against Anime Mid-Atlantic. They finally got the message and moved it out of that weekend.

I believe, though, it still puts them up against Connecticon, and of course 2 weeks away from Otakon next year.... so I guess they tried to make the best of a very sticky situation.

I hate to say this, but the summer months really don't offer any good time for additional cons, simply because there are too many that are medium-sized or larger all crammed within a three month timeframe.

This does make the best of the situation IMO, though I would have liked to seen it done in May or early Sept. Still, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Sadly, I had to choose between AMA and ANext this past year. I might not have that problem this year... though work might have an issue with me taking off all those days, lol!

Meh... I'll just do the work from the hotel room.

I don't go to Otakon, so moving ANext is actually perfect for me(as well as those who go to ANext and not Otakon), as I can fo all three days! However, for those going to Otakon and ANext, just don't spend too much at ANext, or save up extra! Smile

I liked it in October.

July's too crowded as it is...and now AnimeNext, ConnectiCon, and Otakon are three weekends in a row with AnimeNext being geographically centered between them and only a few hours by car from the other two.

This is definintely bad news to me. There is no way I'm going to go to AnimeNext and then Otakon to see the exact same dealers again.
