This is great since I haven´t seen FuriKuri in a while... oh crap I think I´m gonna be camping...
By any chance does anyone remember what it was last year? I seem to remember a lot of Inuyasha, Sealab, Harvey Birdman.

It's all about the FLCL full run, I wonder what the boards are going to be like on that night......both here and at [AS]. The CB I could do without but at least there some of the better episodes.
Till next time,

Wow. I have to get my brother to tape that. I still don't have a permanent copy of FLCL.

Yes! FLCL! I recently borrowed my friend's FLCL DVDs, but they kinda sucked and the whole second half of episode 4 wasn't there!
Hurray for an otaku winning this!

Something doesn't sit well with me about this. If they were going to do a Sat. marathon of FLCL, I wish it was just because they wanted to. Now if the ratings suck they can just brush it of as, "thats what you get when you trust anime fans".
Sorry for the only negitive post, I know I need to go lock myself in the closet.

No Inuyasha. I don't think there was any anime at all.
Now, as much as I like FLCL, I don't think it's the kind of show you can marathon without someone's brain exploding, but I'm not the one making the schedule.

Anime fan... nice.
I do have FuriKuri on tape though. Anyone know what happened to the that series being re-relaesed as a box set?
Cowboy Bebop is always good.
Parnoia Agent not so much in my opinon, but I wonder what episodes those are... I liked the "anime making" one.
Do not remember the episodes by title so I do not know about the others. I do hope the Samurai Cham, ploo one is one of the two episodes I missed.

FLCL full run on Saturday - awesome. The rest of the lineup sounds super cool too.
Just one minor nitpick: Episode 3 of FMA? Why Episode 3? It's not that it's a bad episode -- it sets up a lot of what happens in the series -- but I'd figured he'd choose a real fan-favorite episode like 13, 25, 34, and/or 37....

Where's the appeal in FLCL? Are people only connecting to it because Gainax also did Evangelion? Last I heard, Bobobo-bobo-bobo was not the nuclear explosion of popularity that is FLCL, but the humour is grounded in the same approach. Heck, most of the "parodies" in Bobobo cannot be identified because they are cultural or Western audiences have not been seasoned with them (id est, Fist of the North Star).

This news is old. I knew about this back in June. On those black screen things where people email and ask questions and they show them on TV, someone had asked when they plan on showing FLCL again. The Adult Swim people said that they'd air all the episodes back to back to back on the first Saturday in August. But, it's good to see other news about the schedule.

I haven't seen it in a while, but episode 3 of FMA ("Mother") tells of the botched alchemy experiment to get their Mother back. It really is one of the more emotional episodes in the series, imo. But since it's so early and so much comes after it a lot of people seem to forget about it.
As for FLCL I don't think it's because Gainax did it. It's kind of out there and just plain wierd/silly and doesn't hold back or seem apologetic at all for it. Also it's short and sweet, allowing to view it all in a few hours, which is exactly what will happen.
I think a lot of people are excited about it because when a series runs not everyone can stay up all hours of the night for a week to watch a series. A lot of us watch a series through reruns and catching the odd episodes we miss out of order and piecing the storyline together in our heads. Since FLCL is hardly aired before 3am anymore and is so short, it's hard to do that. So it's sweet for people who haven't been able to catch it to just plop down at a relatively "early" time and catch it in its entirety.

FLCL's humour is more grounded than Bobobo (that doesn't mean much, I know: it's still very wild), which is one giant non-sequitur. That and the cool guitars, the awesome music (it made many a Pillows fan, I think), the cool characters (and their expressions, Mamimi's curious face is probably the most...curious), the excellent camera panning and visual, the awesome action, way cooler than things like Naruto, and the fact that it actually has a story. I don't think there's a substantial amount of people who likes FLCL because they like Gainax. In fact, I'm thinking the other way around...
I'm so glad they're actually showing it again.

FLCL - Seen it enough times... on AS. *Yawn*
Cowboy Bebop - People voted this see this again?
Trigun - Hmmm. I much rather watch the last 2 episodes.
Paranoia Agent - Never really watch much of it.
Fullmetal Alchemist - Again, seen it enough times.
Samurai Champloo - Why isn't Cartoon Planet on?
