Niiiceeee. I still wish I had been there when they announced it. My tapes are holding up fine, but I this is a rare case wher a repurchase is justified (being my favorite and all).

Two years ago I finally broke down and just bought the Japanese anniversary box set. Figures that as soon as I did that it'd be guarenteed to get a US release.

Alright perhaps I will finally get the chance to actually see this series instead of just hearing how much everyone loves it.
Is there any time-table yet for releases or still up in the air?

Well, there will be a LE release and regular release. My guess is that BV will put 2 episodes per DVD, or at the very least 3 per DVD.

Hopefully we'll get lots of extras even on the regular edition, including the science lessons.

The LE release will probably get a line art book and a story book like the LE Patlabor releases.

Angel's Egg would be nice. It is a gorgeous film that deserves a US release. The only thing is, has Oshii even figured out what it's about yet? Razz

But I'm just glad that they released Gunbuster. I'd heard so uch about it but by the time that I got into anime full-bore, the tapes were not available.

Now, I shall flood Bandai Visual USA with letters demanding another buried aime classic be released here -- Macross DYRL...(and wait for pigs to fly Sad )

Now First Gundam is getting a DVD realese in japan, I think it's only a matter of time before we get a box over here. In the meantime, I want Turn-A and Double Zeta.....

I wouldn't hold your breath though. UC is coming out slowly as it is, and even if it's out in Japan, there's basically no reason for Bandai Ent to put it out (A low selling property, inside a low selling property.)

If they do the US release like the Japanese one (which is what they did with Patlabor), then it'll all be one set. The book with that set wasn't much, but there were a ton of video extras.
