I'm curious as to how you were able to plot that a story where the main character's goal is to kill all the Nazi gang (all of whom are mass murderers who are planning more mass murder and one of them calls the Japanese yellow monkeys) is actually supporting fascism. |

Well overall visual novel industry is on decline so nothing surprising. Plus chuunige genre with fight and plot rarely is bestseller compared to nugike visual novel with huge amount of porn and moege.

I KNEW one of you would be in the comments. I recall when someone from ANN itself mocked one of the translators on twitter for working on this big bad boohoo pro-nazi(which is not) visual novel |

Worse,it was an individual who tried to defend the VN he worked on was not nazi propaganda and got mocked by him in response. I won't post it here because I'm sure he would act like a man and simply delete it... |

It was more than "someone from ANN itself". It was Zac Bertschy, the Executive Editor and actual big boss who manages and sets the overall direction for the writers. The topic was when one of the translators noted the minor controvesy which you may remember with ANN running a promotion for the Happy Science cult (promoting their film) for money. The Executive Editor hit back directly on Twitter with (paraphrasing) "you were paid to translate Dies Irae so you don't get to criticize us LMAO". |

I'm not sure why they're attacking a translator. A translator just translates, they don't actually make the show (no matter what Zack Davisson's ego insists) That is a very petty "whataboutism". From what I read in the article, this was specifically talking about a mobile game, which apparently still has plans for development and all their studios were acquired by other publishers? I wouldn't assume this automatically means no other Dies Irae game will come out ever again. It's apparently been ported to a lot of systems, even recent ones as the Switch which means it's at least somewhat popular. |
