As a huge Zelda fan I'm stoked about this, but why is all this video game news on ANN?

ANN has been covering Japanese gaming for quite awhile. It has obvious cross-over interest with anime.

They've always been doing that. At least since I've been a member

One of the most overlooked Zelda titles, very nice news.

I loved playing Link's Awakening on my GBC back when I was in high school and it's still one of my favorite 2D Zelda games so I'm very excited about this remake . I really like how it was about Link trying to wake up from the dream and not about saving a princess again and it had some fun dungeons and I liked the whole world of Kohilint Island. I think the graphics of this remake look cute and remind me a lot of Wind Waker's style. Between this and the Let's Go PIkachu/Eevee games, I like this idea NIntendo has of going back and remaking classic games for a new generation of gamers who might not have had a chance to play the classics. And I hope we'll see more remakes of classic games like this in the future. And I think remaking classic Game Boy games is a perfect for the Switch with it's portability feature. I was also impressed by that anime cut scene they played in the video and it makes me want a Zelda anime even more now. Even if it's just a remake, I'm kind of surprised we're getting another Zelda on the Switch so soon and I'm glad to see Nintendo still revisiting the 2D Zelda format after how successful BOTW was for Nintendo.

I'm oddly pleased with the toy-like visuals.

There was a Nintendo Direct earlier today where they revealed a bunch of new games and whatnot. It was a pretty interesting stream!

This was my very first video game ever! Soooo excited to see this, and this game might be the final push needed for me to get a Switch!

Link's Awakening was the first Zelda game I played, but sadly I never completed it. I really like this artstyle and for some reason I feel like if Nintendo decides to remake Mother 1 and 2 they should use this look, it feels a bit like those clay figures they used to illustrate the characters from Earthbound.

My favorite Zelda game, but this looks horrible, it's straight up ugly. Why should I play this instead of the GBC version?
