anybody got thoughts on it? .... or even seen/heard of the series for that matter?

So does "cousin" have a different meaning in Japan? Was reading up on the show and this popped up "Together with his cousin, Mako (whom he has a crush on)"

Ok, now everyone can calm down in regards to the casting of FMP! The Second Raid. It's good to finally have confirmation.

It's a bit like Nabeshin + Blues Brothers + South Park.

I don't think there was need for alarm in the first place. FUNi uses so many ADV actors that even before this piece of news it was pretty much a given the cast would be the same.

I never panicked to begin with. I knew that the casting for Second Raid would eventually be resolved with a fair and satisfying solution. It just that the possibility of Hilary Haag not reprising one of her signature roles would have been a major disappointment for the dub fans. Now that ADV and FUNi will technically be "partners" with the handling of Second Raid, this will work for all parties involved, most especially the fans.
Now the next question about Second Raid is this: Is October 3 the "official" street date for volume 1 as ANN reported a while ago, or will it be released at a later time?

So technically, the Second Raid will dubbed by ADV Studios with Don Rush as ADR Director, right?

First of three? So should we expect to see more announcements from them?

I was one of the 5 people it seems who was disappointed when ADV dropped Tactics so I was really glad Manga picked it up. I was wondering who did the dub--ADV-Chris Patton is Haruke. I was very surprised. The only thing is we don't get the full American credits-the director, translator, etc are all missing. We get cast only.

As far as I know, in Japan marrying your cousin is legal, just frowned upon.
Getting married to an eleven-year old girl, however, is fine.

I read somewhere in AnimeOnDVD that ADV did the entire packaging, dubbing, and other production stuff before dropping the license and giving it to Manga Entertainment. It's pretty odd for ADV to just do their usual production work and just let it go. I'm guessing it's more of a financial issue.

I'm not sure if I'd pay money to see Nerima Daikon Brothers translated, but I'd like to be able to understand it. Watching it raw each week sure was interesting. At least the songs were fun.

I would be very interested to see the details of this ADV-Funi deal. I am interested in how the money will be broken down between these two competitors.
Anyway, it seems both of them are putting fans first, so that is a very good thing.

Am I the only one the least bit curious about the status of Kurau? It was licensed by adv about 2 years ago and still no word on a release. Do they still have the license or is it being subcontracted like Tactics or FMP:TSR? I figured we would have heard something about it at the panel this year.

ADV needs to take better care of its already existing licenses before splurging on new ones. Its manga department especially has really got me irritated.
