I could be down for that. I've been playing this remake, and the encounters with the Tyrant have made me hope we'll see the same for the Nemesis at some point.

And yet they couldn't justify using union actors to keep Claire consistent. Rolling Eyes

The change in aim & shoot controls took some getting used to (not sure if they were carried over from 6 or 7 since I have yet to play either of them...and kinda don't want to with 6) but it has been fun so far. I have the Deluxe Edition and the swapped original soundtrack DLC has been handled very well so far and I hope they do the same for the eventual REmake 3.

That's the only thing that sucks about this (and I always liked Alyson and thought she was at her best in Darkside Chronicles) but then this was expected after what happened with Revelations 2.

Admittedly, I've been bothered by that. I'm currently playing as Leon, and I keep thinking it would have been nice for Matt Mercer to be in it. If memory serves, Capcom announced the non-union casting during the voice actor strike, but Capcom wasn't one of the companies that were part of it.

^Yeah and around that same time, they worked on Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite which was a union work (can't really say dub because there never was a Japanese version recorded) and the whole issue with Laura Bailey being replaced as Chun-Li had to do with Marvel preventing double-casting since she's their current voice of Black Widow.

It's easy to look at Revelations 2 as just its own thing. Claire is at a different point in her life during that game and the actress who played her wasn't brought back for RE2's remake either.

We know Capcom wanted Alyson to play Claire again ... but then they contracted out the mocap/voice work to the lowest bidder, who went with non-union actors. Alyson isn't a member of SAG, so the strike wasn't what prompted this. I don't think Capcom was one of the publishers being picketed against anyway.

It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth because these aren't obscure games no one in the west plays. They sell significantly better internationally than in Japan, yet Capcom doesn't view consistency in the English voice cast as something worthwhile. It would be one thing if they also did a complete recast on the Japanese side, but it's still Yuko Kaida playing Claire. The disregard for the English version is kind of crazy, too, since for more than a decade that was the base.

I don't think Union is the issue because Matthew Mercer often works non-union(like when he replaces Troy Baker in most of his roles from before he became big),I think the reason is that Capcom wants the facial mo-cap and voice-actors for the recent RE games to be the same(that's why Roger Craig Smith was replaced in RE7 but got to reprise Chris for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite).
Karen Strassman plays Anette in this game and the Union thing didn't seem to be an issue for her,and they even got Keith Silverstein to once again reprise HUNK since they don't have to worry about doing facial mo-cap for him(Keith has become one of the longest standing voice-actors in the franchise, playing HUNK since 2007's Umbrella Chronicles)

They don't have to.

If true, this wouldn't be the first time. Stephanie Sheh was the voice for Rebecca Chambers for a while but for the CG Vendetta film (which was union), Rebecca was voiced by Erin Cahill who also did Mocap for her. I remember being very excited because I always liked Power Rangers Time Force and she was a big reason why and she did good voicing her, it's just too bad that Rebecca (and Leon for that matter) wasn't written well for that movie.

Why?

I like RE4 just as much as everybody else but with the fact that game still gets ports I don't see the logic in remaking the game unless it uses the original concept that was scrapped.......and in spite of how that may mess up continuinty.

Yeah, if anything needs a remake it's not 4, it's 3....and Zero to make it a better game.

REmake 3 has been leaked by 2 trustworthy sources a few month ago, so it has to be next. Capcom even started to drum up interest today for it. Unless a sequel to RE7 is first, due to Sony wanting that sweet VR fix. No game moved more PS VR google after all. Both options sound great but Code Veronica and especially Zero scream for a remake and the re-crowned Capgod should listen. Those have near crippling design flaws, aside from the somewhat unresolved plots. (CV, Zero and even a few paintings in REmake build up to a Resi 4 version that never came.) RE4 on the other hand is still the best Capcom game ever, leave it alone. A remake of that or a remake of REmake should be reserved for the day the series/canon get´s rebooted.

Nioh and likely Sekiro filled the Onimusha void but how about a Dino Crisis reboot? Good games about dinos have become shockingly few. Dare i say nonexistent? REmake 2 with dinos, now that´s an idea that sells itself!

Edit: In other news, RE7 just passed 6 mil. copies solid. It may overtake RE6 yet.

Oh come on I know the inventory system was ass and some of the enemies were bullshit but the game wasn't that bad.
