Saw the trailer. Thought the English voice acting might needed work. Other than that it looks like a sick show.

It's GAINAX. What do you expect? And yeah, I'm about ready to kill the male voice talents, too.

That isn't exactly how I'd present the show. I would've played more to the dramatic side and use that awesomesauce OP instead of try and make it look like [as] fodder (it's not)

You also have to take into account that the series itself was pretty underwhelming.

Anime cry

That trailer looks quite awesome, but after seeing the whole thing on fansubs....

As for the voice acting, I kind expected better since Steven Foster is the ADR director (despite the occasional hacked up scripts on some series, he does know how to bring forth some potential out of the VAs).

As trailers go, that one was pretty good. It caught my interest, and had the whole "what the hell is going on" factor.

Unfortunately I know nothing of the series so I only have this to go on:

This anime seems to spark my interest. The voice acting is ok. I look forward to giving this anime a shot.

It's still an unknown whether or not Foster will even be writing the scripts for KonoMini or relying on someone else. I've found that Foster dubs can vary drastically in quality depending on whether Steven has fully invested himself in the project (The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Gilgamesh) or is merely coasting along (E's Otherwise).

This dub has the potential to be something special with Braden and Cynthia as the leads, but that's ultimately up to Foster. I'll admit I'm a little wary over the potential stunt casting effect of having the Haag siblings voice the Ninomiya siblings... but Steven has gotten decent material out of Quentin before and Hilary flourishes under him.

Even so, I think it's premature to judge a dub's potential based solely on an online trailer. We'll have a better idea how this comes together when the first disc streets this summer.

Even then, you really can't judge the quality of the acting until the series sets in a little. However, just by vocal tones, I'm a little wary.

Yet another white van load of fanservice sprinkled with a thin coating of plot.
Naa, don't think so.

The trailer suggests that the series is more action-oriented than it actually is; for the most part it's a fan service-laden comedy-drama with only occasional bursts of action. It does have a lot of generic content but ultimately proves to be a deeper and more involved series than it appears at first. It's comparable to Mahoromatic in many ways (even the character designs are similar!), although the storytelling is a step lower.

Not one of GAINAX's best, but not a shabby effort, either. And it does have one of the all-time best names for an anime title.

It's not Gainax's greatest series by any means, but its not bad either. If you're not expecting anything special, its a nice little series.

I'll probably be picking this one up.

i agree the trailer does make it seem like its more action than it actually has. but action is what draws peoples attention over here so of course they have to put it in

All I have to say is THANK GOD Geneon didn't waste their time bringing this show to R1. Totally lost interest by the 5th episode; plus from what I could see, Mahoromatic is better in every dept. then Konomini.

Pass on this and invest in Kamichu! and/or Strawberry Marshmellow

(Geneon is totally awesome, AND smart Smile)

Judging only from the trailer, I would think that this was some retread OVA from the early 90s. The animation seems to be good quality, but otherwise this reminds me of about a dozen other shows and the exaggerated fan service element really is a turnoff. Honestly, I can scarcely believe it's from Gainax.

BTW, in my opinion the voice acting (and music) in the clip was atrocious.

That's why I don't use trailers to decide what anime titles to watch/buy. I'm going to wait until I see at least a full episode (possibly in either the June or July issue of Newtype USA) before I pass judgement on this series.
