The first thing I watched on HiDive was School-Live! and it did not disappoint! I've been catching up on Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya which is fun and I watched a bunch of My Love Story. There are certainly a few kinks to work out with the interface, in my opinion (it can be clunky to get back to where you were and sometimes it flubs up saving your spot), but I've barely had any problems on my iPad. I can't wait until they offer a roku app!

Princess Tutu has been an underground hidden gem for years; The only thing that I can think of that prevented the show from reaching the audience it deserved is the fact it's called Princess Tutu.

Princess Tutu is a good magical girl anime with a unique fairy tale setting. I would also recommend Log Horizon which is a good family friendly isekai show and Flip Flappers which is a great Yuri fantasy show. Also for those who like fanservice shows there is Monster Musume, No Game No Life, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon.

I came here to shout about Princess Tutu, for some reason having low expectations for this ad. HIDIVE has exceeded those expectations.

Destiny of the Shrine Maiden is something I would consider a hidden gem. Sadly, like the Anime Network, it only has the dubbed version, which I feel just isn't as good as the subbed despite a pretty good cast.
Other hidden gems are Casshern Sins and Karas, but I haven't checked if they're there. |

Hidive certainly needs some work. I watched Monster Musume, and just about every time I played an episode, it defaulted to the censored broadcast version, and I had to manually change it back to home video version. I wish I could have a setting in my profile to force everything I watch to default to home video if it’s available. Also, I always have to set streaming quality to 1080p manually which is annoying, as it is always on Auto. Crunchyroll always stays on 1080p, so I want the same on Hidive.
Finally, their iOS apps are garbage. If you attempt to change the video quality to uncensored or change to English dub while watching a show, the app crashes 
@Heishi Casshern Sins is licensed by Funimation, and is streaming on Crunchyroll subbed and Funi dubbed. Karas seems to be an unlicensed OVA and isn’t streaming anywhere. |

^^ And IMO Casshern Sins and Karas (Manga Entertainment) are pretty much better left as "buried garbage"

...I just realized that I may be confusing my dislike with the Casshern series with my extreme dislike for a grimdark cgi-overloaded live-action Japanese movie that preceded it. I think I tried the anime once and saw too much of the movie in it and gave up on it early.
My memory of Karas is from 12 years ago when it ran on the Encore Network in two "movies". I remember it being a confusing spectacle. Once again, overblown with CGI (but not really horrible looking for that period) and the plot was just mangled and confusing. I do remember that the second half improved the extra confusing first half slightly. In any case, My personal opinion is that neither are worth much consideration. Definitely not worth getting your hopes too high for. Both have ANN reviews though... and all rate them higher than I do |

I really, really dislike that too. A massive update for that app cannot come soon enough. Unfortunately, I don’t own a computer and they still don’t have an app for PS4, so it’s currently the only option I have.

How are they on providing the home video versions for their catalog? I remember they started out with none, then started adding them. Do they have them for subtitled versions too? I ask because previously on TAN, the few home video versions they provided were only for the dubs. |
